Hmm. I wonder. The priest yesterday had an interesting homily on how he faced persecution. There was a guy in the church who would always correct him. He was struggling to understand English. Apparently, the man was mean. He said the man was very brilliant man, but I guess was not too kind to his efforts to integrate into the culture. He prayed for him and realized he had a lot of resentment towards him. The man never changed, but they are friends. He learned to see the good and bad in him.
I wonder. It seems unfair that sin seems to only affect the victim. The man never changed. He was perfectly fine with his faults. As Christians, God always calls us to be the bigger person. What for? Being mean does not hurt him, but hurts others. It is not fair that some people can ruin others people’s lives and never change. You become a sinner for not loving them back. Why? It hurts you for not loving them back.
Anyways, it makes me think of how God makes us all so vastly different. Some people’s sins never seem to backfire on them, but only hurt others. If they don’t care, is it still a sin?
This is question I ponder often. I see why the emotional, sensitive, sentimental, weak, cowardly, pathetic need God. I can not see why a strong person would need God. A strong, insensitive person.
My friend told me a story about her grandmother. Her grandfather used to yell at her all the time. Her grandmother would just take it most of the time. It just never seemed to fair to me how unbalanced love is. Their marriage revolved around his wants. She learned to deal with his bad behavior. I do not think he ever changed.
It is always interesting to me. How I stress out about the minorest things. I am never happy. Yet there are others who are cruel and mean, but seems content with their lives. It is not my place to judge me. Why do I have to endure their cruelty? In the end, God will forgive us both, we both have the same chance at heaven. It does seem God loves and is more merciful to some more than others. Some are called to suffer other people’s abuses. Others abuse.
