The ignore feature suggestion was excellent, very constructive, well done.

Other than that, it’s perhaps helpful to remind ourselves that there are no victims on Internet forums. Nobody forces us to visit the forum. Nobody forces us to read any particular thread. Nobody forces us to post. Nobody forces us to read posters we find unappealing. And finally, the most important…

Nobody forces us to have any particular emotional reaction to anything we read. If you call me a name and I get upset, that’s me deciding to get upset, and it’s my little mess within my own little mind to clean up, or not, as I choose.

Many of us try to manage our emotional experience by somehow controlling those around us. Often we try to guilt trip others in to doing or being whatever it is we want. This isn’t a huge crime, but it is irrational. Trying to control every inconvenient person we meet in life is a losers game, because there are so many inconvenient people, and we have so little control over them.

It’s far wiser, and vastly more rational, to focus our efforts on controlling the one brain we actually have access to, our own. I’m not talking about morality here, but about finding the peace we’re looking for by the most sensible and efficient method. If we want peace, it’s up to us to find it inside of our own heads. Other people really have little to do with it.

Unfortunately, I have plans to abandon this forum. I am still distraught over what happened within one of my threads several weeks ago. I will not go into further detail, but I can, however, make the following clear:

If I make a new thread, I start to attract trolls or just people who ramble on and on, like they’re trying to write a poorly-translated Tolstoy novel. Too much information that is irrelevant to the topic, as if someone is trying to derail it Granted, this is the internet, but out of all the forums where I’ve been a member of, this one has been an anomalous oddity.

I hate to hate say this, but I am now open to the possibility that continuing a presence here will cause more harm than good.

Of course, what do I have to lose? Absolutely nothing. Just because I leave this forum, does not mean I will abandon the greatest bulwark of Western Civilization: Roman Catholicism.

If anyone here has reasons for someone like myself to continue posting here, feel free to elaborate. Regardless, a prayer or two would help.
I have been on internet forums for over 10 years now … I am disabled and being on the internet is one of the few things I can do with my time … I like this forum because it allows me to pray for others … something that I find very important … my best advice to you as you travel the internet is to take what you need, and leave the rest … hence ignore the negativity you will find … it is all over the internet … many people troll the internet just to take out their emotional baggage on others … you need to just ignore these type of people … take the good and leave the bad … that is my best advice … abandoning a forum or making threads like this that let the trolls know they really bother you is never the answer … best of luck and I will pray for you … God Bless.

O Blood and Water, which gushed forth from the Heart of Jesus as a fountain of Mercy for us, I trust in You!
O Blood and Water, which gushed forth from the Heart of Jesus as a fountain of Mercy for us, I trust in You!
O Blood and Water, which gushed forth from the Heart of Jesus as a fountain of Mercy for us, I trust in You!

Our Father, Who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name; Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil, Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace. The Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death, Amen.

I believe in God, the Father almighty, Creator of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried; He descended into hell; on the third day He rose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty; from there He will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen.

Eternal Father, I offer you the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of Your Dearly Beloved Son, Our Lord, Jesus Christ, in atonement for our sins and those of the whole world.

For the sake of His sorrowful Passion, have mercy on us and on the whole world.
For the sake of His sorrowful Passion, have mercy on us and on the whole world.

Prayer for Wisdom

Lord, Almighty God,
source of light, truth, and eternal goodness,
transform this present moment
into an hour of vision and inspiration.
Help me to find wisdom;
shed light on my thoughts.
May my aspirations come true
through righteous and good deeds.
Give me the strength to concentrate,
to think objectively,
and to see clearly.
Shed your light on me so that I may see
which decision to make.
Help me, O my Eternal God,
to avoid vanity and pride,
and thus be able to make worthy decisions
as a true child of yours.
Through Christ Our Lord, Amen.

Im sorry, I didn’t realize this was a prayer thread, and I guess I checked my mercy at the door. Anyway, I hope you find what you are looking for, but I caution you not to have an unrealistic expectation, I don’t think you are going to find many things out there that comply with everything you seem to be looking for. Best of luck, praying for you…

Saint Michael, the archangel, defend us in battle, be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil, may God rebuke him, we humbly pray. And do you, O’ Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God thrust into Hell Satan and all the other evil spirits who prowl about the world for the ruin of souls.

Amen.

Our Father who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.

Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb Jesus.

Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.

Amen.

For Help in Trials

Most holy apostle St. Jude, faithful servant and friend of Jesus, the name of the traitor who delivered your beloved Master into the hands of His enemies has caused you to be forgotten by many. But the Church honors and invokes you universally as the patron of hopeless cases–of things despaired of. Pray for me who feels so hopeless. Make use, I implore you, of that particular privilege accorded to you of bringing visible and speedy help where help is almost despaired of. Come to my assistance in this great need, that I may receive the consolations and succor of heaven in all my necessities, tribulations and sufferings, in particular (TheWiseMan), and that I may bless God with you and all the elect throughout eternity. I promise you, O Blessed St. Jude, to be ever mindful of this great favor, and I will never cease to honor you as my special and powerful patron, and to do all in my power to encourage devotion to you. Amen.

Praying for you to discern what God’s will is for you in this situation…

Remember, Heart of Jesus,
Immaculate Heart of Mary,
and you, O glorious St. Joseph,
that no one has ever had recourse to your protection,
or implored your assistance without obtaining relief.
Animated with the utmost lively confidence,
I come laden with the weight of my sins,
to prostrate myself before you.
O Merciful Heart of Jesus,
Immaculate Heart of Mary,
and you, O glorious St. Joseph,
reject not my prayer and petitions
but graciously hear and grant them.

Amen.

Praying for your guidance. I wouldn’t worry about it. Just forget what happened and move on with your life. If you still like the forum then stay, but don’t let whatever happened bother you. Give it to Jesus and move on. It’s not worth worrying about. There are some things we can control and other things we can not. Let Jesus handle the things you can not control and move forward. God bless.

**Blessed Saint Raphael, Archangel, We beseech you to help us in all our needs and trials of this life, as you, through the power of God, didst restore sight and gave guidance to young Tobit. We humbly seek your aid and intercession, that our souls may be healed, our bodies protected from all ills, and that through divine grace we may become fit to dwell in the eternal Glory of God in heaven. Amen. **

Dear Friends in Christ:

We need to remember the rules of the prayer forum. Chief moderator Klara Collins says: “The Prayer Intentions board is not intended to be used as a place for debate, discussion, or advice.”

forums.catholic-questions.org/showthread.php?t=916208

In my opinion only, personal discussion should take place through PMs. This message is offered in love. God bless you all. Lisa.

Well guys, I made up my mind already. I’ve decided to abandon the forum and get out of dodge from place as far as possible. Unfortunately, I would like get rid of my account, as I have no intentions of letting it sit idle.
