Under attack please pray

I was going to taking a trip this month for the purposes of discerning my call but it seems that within these past couple weeks I’ve been getting disturbing dreams. the dreams often involve the Devil pestering me or torturing me. lately this past week I’ve had dreams where I am given an “out of body” experience and I witness myself committing very disturbing sins, suicide, murder, and some that are so terrible I am alarmed my my could even conceive of them. I woke up from the dream relieved that these things have not happened, I prayed sincerely for those who could commit or even conceive such crimes I was disturbed that my mind could think these situations up and I have the feeling that the demonic is involved in these dreams. I don’t surround myself with such violence in my life especially towards the people in the dream and I cant help but think that the devil is trying to keep me from discernment. as far as any other aspect of this trip my heart is at peace and I’ve prayed before the blessed sacrament about it and any fears i once had are gone. these dreams are only a very recent phenomena. Please pray for me.

and do Thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host -
by the Divine Power of God -
cast into hell, satan and all the evil spirits,

Dear Lord lead your servant to the right doctor and right priest to help him discern these goings on with him. You are good and merciful and know the torment of the mind. Guide him to the cross you intend for him. Amen

God must have something great planned for you to do. That is the only reason why the devil is going after you so much. Perserver and trust in God. Do not be alarmed of the thoughts that enter your mind. They are not your thoughts. Do not dwell on them because that is a minor victory for the devil.

Rely on St. Michael the Archangel. I see you know his prayer.

At night, I also pray:
Protect us, Lord, as we stay awake;
Watch over us as we sleep,
That awake, we may keep watch with Christ,
and asleep, rest in his peace.

Visit, we beseech Thee, O Lord, this dwelling and drive far from it all the snares of the enemy. Let Thy holy angles dwell herein to keep us in peace, and may Thy blessing be always upon us. Through Our Lord Jesus Christ, Thy Son, Who liveth and reignth with Thee, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, world without end. Amen.

Ohhh, I wish I could remember the Saints name, but I had read that a Saint (not St. Therese, but another well known Saint) was lying in her bed and woke up and saw the Devil in all his horror and terror before her. She said “oh…its just you” … flipped over and went back to sleep. 🙂

I love that story, and its so hard to imagine when our fears have us so wrapped up in a state of panic and despair.

Please know that God has wonderful things planned for you - and they are close. That is why the Devil wants to get you - he is FREAKING OUT that you are going to play for the “good” side…

Thank you for your help and prayers, they are much appreciated. you should know that I find consolation in the fact that many dreams tend to vanish the less we dwell on them, and even now the deails from the dreams have gone fuzzy. still not all of them end badly. one dream ended with the devil being defeated because I instead called upon Christ rather than chosing the options the devil had given me. so whether these dreams are manefestations of my subcounscious or a bona fide demonic attack (and i cannot tell you for sure but only state that i think they have demonic qualities) I am thankful that Prayers like yours can aleviate and console. thanks!

on a side note: I do tend to side with the theory that the devil is redoubling his efforts. I am a former athiest skeptic who returned to the church some time ago. The devil is a sore loser.

You are in my prayer and devotions today.

St. Padre Pio underwent similar attacks, sometimes monthly. As another person on this thread mentioned—" God has something great planned for you!".

I often ask Jesus to circumcise & purify my thoughts, imagination and dreamlife before I go to sleep. I’ve had similar experiences—I ask St. Padre for help and protection before I go to sleep.

I will pray for you. I, too, recently had a dream with demonic content, involving my son. In the dream he was about ten or eleven (he is 21 now) and was having a fit. I was restraining him to try to get him to calm down. I asked, “what is the matter?” He answered in a falsetto voice, “DEMONS”. Then the room in the dream began to shake like an earthquake and his appearance changed drastically to that of a demonic visage. I have watched plenty of horror movies in my lifetime, but have never seen anything as frightening as this dream. It woke me out of a dead sleep at 2:40 am and I could not get back to sleep. I read much of the book of Matthew and recited as much of the Liturgy of the Saints as I could remember. This happened night before last and I am still shaken by it. Trust in Christ and call to him. Please pray for me as well. We will perservere with the help of Jesus and the hosts of heaven. God bless you.
