Puzzleannie,
Thanks. At age 71, I suffer at times from the “Rose joke” syndrome:
Two elderly couples were strolling down the street, with the women - long-time friends - walking a little ahead of their husbands.
As the men chatted, one of them brought up the subject of a new restaurant, where he and his wife had enjoyed a superb dinner.
“Sounds good,” responded his friend. “What’s the name of the restaurant?”
“Oh,” came the answer, "I have such a hard time remembering things like that.
“But let’s see,” he continued. "Well, let me think for a minute. . .
"Oh! You know that flower that has long stems, and thorns?
What’s it called?"
“You mean a rose?”
“Yes! Thanks! That’s it!”
And calling ahead to where the women were walking, he asked, “Say, Rose, what’s the name of that new restaurant we went to?”
