Not streaming, but you could check your library system. If your local library doesn’t have it they’re likely to be able to get it through interlibrary loan. I get tons of movies and books that way that I wouldn’t be able to otherwise, and all free with a few clicks of a mouse. 🙂

ETA: You may have luck searching for the title under its Italian name, Sotto il cielo di Roma, or even by searching by the actor who played Pope Pius XII (James Cromwell).

My parish has an account at www.formed.org. As a parishioner, I was able to stream it and several other Catholic resources for free.

If your parish doesn’t have an account, the website currently offers a free 7-day trial period for individuals.

The thing is that to enjoy that free trial, one must put their credit card or payment information, of course I could cancel before the trial ends, but we simply don’t want to give such information.

I guess the other option is to buy the DVD…

I don’t mean to pester, but why is borrowing not an option? If not from the library, ask on a neighborhood or parish message board/forum/Facebook page?

You know me, I love being frugal. I don’t see at all that it’s inevitable that you have to buy it. You can, of course, I just got the impression from your OP that you didn’t care to.

There aren’t any public library near us. We might ask the Parish.

I thought you were in Maryland/DC area? There definitely is, if so. To my knowledge every county in the US has a library system. If you’re more rural than I thought it might be a trek, though. If you do end up near one, they are fantastic resources for families. 🙂

Asking at the parish is a great option, too. 🙂
