God wants us to speak the truth. Jesus seems very harsh about sin. It always surprises me how willing he is too forgive. I often wonder if most people speak the truth in that spirit. Do we really hope to change their person through our words? Or are we simply expressing irritation, impatience, anger and judgment?

Some people speak in that Spirit, but don’t live it.

Some people speak in that Spirit and they live it.

I know someone Catholic who live preaching and spreading the Gospel, but morally speaking, they live a double life. Sad, but true.

Sin is a rejection of God’s love. That is what is pretty harsh.
God has given us all good things,
He gave us His very Son and we continue to sin/ 😦
That’s pretty harsh.

We can influence people by our goodness. but only God can change hearts.
And then, only if the people are open to change.

Pray for the conversion of the world.

So willing He gave that power to priests to forgive sin. But why does it surprise you? Perhaps because we are still in the liberal throes of the ‘spirit’ of Vatican II where we don’t hear the warning against sin. The image of Jesus as camp counselor.
