Hello-

I am a recent convert and bought a copy of Magnificat at my local store. I have found it
to be quite satisfying. I could use some help putting a few parts of the publication in perspective, though:
  1. The Blessings of the Month, particularly the litany: Could anyone help me understand the
purpose of these blessings and if there is a time when they are intended to be said?
  2. The nature of the morning/evening/night prayers: It seems to me that I am praying these prayers in unity
with other readers of Magnificat, and that these prayers are based onthe Liturgy of the Hours but easier to follow. Is that a correct understanding…or is there more you would
    add?
Thank you!

I would say you have a good understanding of the Morning/Evening/Night prayers. I like them because I want an orderly way to pray the Psalms without committing fully to the LOTH.

The other material, including Blessings of the Month, seems to be resource material for your personal prayer, to be used or not, according to your own needs and preferences. It doesn’t appear to be official in any way. So enjoy them in whatever way is useful to you.

Betsy

Doe the readings correspond with the Liturgy of the Hours that Religious pray daily?
