First, I’d like to apologize cause my english is not so good. 😜

I would like to know Why God allowed Herod to kill all the Children at Matthew 2:16 just to fulfill a Prophecy? It wouldn’t be easier if God did not send a Star, and did not send any prophecy, so Herod could not know that Jesus was there? Or Joseph, could advise all the village that the soldiers were coming, then all the other families could run away to Egypt and wait Herod’s Death?

i’m sure there are better and more learned explanations but…here is mine.
when there is the greatest good …there also is the greatest evil.
since God gave us a free will to choose one or the other…herod also had
this option.

Herod only found out because the magi came to him first. Being that they were from afar, they were probably not aware of the “politics” and inner problems. Looking for a king, they would naturally go to the ruler of the area. Joseph warned in a dream was to save Jesus, there was no indication that Herod would come in to kill all the boys. Joseph had to leave immediately and at night. There was no time to warn others to leave or even have a big group of people to escape which would bring attention to Joseph and Mary. At the time, there was no indication to what was about to happen next. This evil did not happen to fulfill some prophesy but more the prophesy is a warning about evil to come. Sometimes we want to blame God for evil that happens instead of looking at warnings and using them to escape. The star was sent as a sign to those from afar that Jesus, a great king has come.
It was God’s way of reaching out to the whole world beyond the Jews. There are several theories about the star. Some think it was an alignment of the planets and it appeared in some of the astrology constellations such as Leo and the Virgin. The magi were astrologers and even in their false religion, God was reaching out to them. Herod whose orders murdered those children ended up dying a horrible death and God did bring judgement and justice. The church still honors those innocence in a mass after Christmas.

That’s really an age-old question that almost no one, except the Catholic Church answers. “Why does God allow evil to happen to good/innocent people?”

The answer is: In order to bring about a greater good. That’s the only answer. Sometimes, however, we cannot see what that good may be. God does, however, and we will, too, once we die and go to heaven.

Why should God use a more easy way. Is he lazy? Look at the creation, it is unnecessary complicated.
