What are the consequences of being blind to your own faults or having a different moral code than those outside of the Catholic bible? It seems like you would be happier and it would be easier to live up to your ideals. Whereas if you follow Christianity, you would constantly experience sorrow and regret because no one can live up to Christ’s example. Why not be realistic and simply follow the examples of Christianity that are doable? Why does God demand so much of those who know Him, although they are still just a humans as those outside of His church? Most of us will not never be a perfect Christian. God loves all His children whether they believe in His existence or not. Whether they conform to His will or not. In the end, God promises mercy, salvation, and forgiveness to all who seek whether you spend your whole life doing His will or you repent at the eleventh hour.

A different moral code outside the Catholic Church: Most likely huge consequences. We should NOT make excuses for doing less than our best to follow Christ. Hitler and Stalin lived up to THEIR PERSONAL IDEALS. So personal ideals is no reliable standard. Adam and Eve had their own standard - we can do better by doing our way, not God’s Way.

We must always remember the Sacrament of Reconciliation. God knows we sin. The question is, are we truly sorry - sorrow and regret? Thinking it not enough. Actually expressing your sin and regret in Confession is required by Jesus Christ Himself. Read John 20: 19-23.

We are imperfect. But God does expect us to continually make best efforts to live a more holy life. We must remember that IF we truly try to live His Way, He will give us the Graces we need including Forgiveness in the Sacrament of Reconciliation.

Perfection is NOT the standard in this life. Perfection is the GOAL. “Can’t be perfect so why try. God will love me no matter how bad or lazy I may be.” That’s a cop out. Such an attitude ignores God’s Expectation. We should not presume too much. True Love is expressed by doing the best we can to follow Christ.

Today is Sunday May 3. Read today’s Gospel: John 15:1-8. Remain in Christ or there will be consequences.

Thank You. God Bless You

God’s grace provides what we need. We can have His deep peace in the midst of suffering.

Life is short…eternity is forever!

Everyone says that. Sometimes life feels like it will go on forever.
