The issue that most people have with him us that he never takes a concrete position on anything. The end product of his vision is just ’ dialogue’ instead of repentance and reform.
This is a very subjective position to hold, so I guess we both are in that boat. Dialogue is critical for Fr Martin, since it means that you sit down and actually have an honest conversation - listening being as important as speaking. It means a lot to those in the LGBTQ community - to be heard and respected.

Well yes, we agree there as well.Dialogue is always useful as compared to two people shouting over each other.

However, my concern is that under the notion of dialogue, the LGBTQ activists are just advocating for acceptance of their lifestyle. If someone I knew was a struggling homosexual or heterosexual (adultery, fornication etc) I would love, pray and listen to them , but would still advocate they changed their lifestyle.

I do not see this at all with Fr.Martin . Organizations such as Courage that help promote chastity among homosexuals are not advocated .

The LGBTQ lobby is powerful, they want acceptance of their lifestyle. They started with popular culture and have in a way pushed and promoted their ideology in governments, schools , courts etc. any opposition is shut down. Is anyone listening to the non-LGBTQ people?

No church i have been part of has removed them

You talk a lot about ‘them.’ It doesn’t help to create the ‘other’ when it comes to any human being, especially your brothers and sisters in Christ. Perhaps you might want to look at that - motes and logs in the eye and all that.

I stand with Father Martin in his ministry as do thousands of others. He is truly Christ-like.

Oh okay…then taking your logic forward …let there be no priests ,confessions bible ,doctrine of sin …because there is no ’ other ’ and no need for instruction or even gentle chatisement ( which is a corporal work of mercy )

You’ve gone past the main issue and made it personal by questioning my own degree of holiness . Well of course I’m not completely there yet. No one is . But we should strive for that . Sitting around and saying ’ It’s ok don’t worry about it ’ does a great disservice to the pilgrim .

Them is an appropriate pronoun to use to describe a group.

The great Saint Aloysius is one of my favorites. He was a great master of the spiritual life and a Jesuit too. I hope the order isn’t bringing itself to ruin through heterodoxy.

I wouldn’t fuss too much about other people’s pilgrimages. I would rather pay attention to how to care for them in the most loving way. And Fr Martin gives us ways in which we can do that best.

Slightly off topic: Why do people refer to them as " Gegj oo its" rather than “Jes soo its” ?

What am I missing? SJ Society of Jesus (gee sus, not gegj sus)

Start talking about them as Societas Jesu then with the prononciation in Latin. English speakers want use a “dj” sound instead of a “gee” as they are used to when saying anything with J in English.
