Please pray that this surgery is quick and routine and that I recover quickly so my family can get back to normal. The surgery should be in the morning. Thank you very much.

Dear St Luke, the physician who also was a gospel writer:

Please guide the surgeon throughout the surgery so milkbar will be up and around very soon.

UPDATE:

Thank you so much for your prayers. I was scared about the general anesthesia, but after speaking with my priest and receiving the Anointing of the Sick, and later accidentally (!) coming across the Gospel verse mentioning Jesus putting his hands on people and healing them, I felt a great peace and I was able to keep bad thoughts at bay. I was mostly relaxed going into the OR.

The surgery went well and I am having a very good recovery. But I overdid it freshening up an hour or so ago… I should not have stayed out of bed so long. I felt deceptively normal for a little while and I am dizzy and exhausted.

I should be able to see my children tomorrow! I have not seen them since Tuesday. One of them is a nursing baby, so this has been challenging in that respect as well, as she had never had formula before and is starting to not do as well with it. (I had no milk put back in the freezer because this started out as a sudden trip to the ER.) I express milk and send it home with whoever comes to visit me, but I have to “pump and dump” for 24 hours following the surgery, so she’s been almost all formula today.

Please continue to pray for my recovery and for strength and comfort for me and especially my children. If I continue to show improvement tomorrow, I should be able to go home Saturday.

Thank you again. It was so comforting to know I had prayers coming from many places, including here. 🙂

Prayer to Our Lady of Perpetual Help**
O Mother of Perpetual Help,
grant that we may ever invoke thy most powerful name,
which is the safeguard of the living
and the salvation of the dying.
O Purest Mary, O Sweetest Mary,
let thy name henceforth be ever on our lips.
Delay not, O Blessed Lady,
to help us whenever we call on thee,
for, in all our needs, in all our temptations
we shall never cease to call on thee,
ever repeating thy sacred name, Mary.

I am happy the surgery went well praying for your continued recovery

A Novena Prayer to the Sacred Heart of Jesus
Sacred Heart of Jesus, we know that there is but one thing impossible to You: to be without pity for those who are in suffering or distress. Look down on us, we beg of You and grant us the grace which we humbly and earnestly implore, through the Immaculate Heart of Your most sorrowful Mother to whom You confided us as her children, and whose prayers are all powerful with You. Amen.
