The Metal rings of my rosary turned to the color of gold from silver right before my eyes. It is still this color today.

Peace!
Could we have a photo please? This has happened with many a cheap bead and is mistakingly taken for a miracle especially by the Medj guys. Happened to me too but I see it as a good sign of wear and tear!
Wear and tear does not change one color to another within mintues or even hours. It takes days. If prodigal-sun had it turned before his eyes, that doesn’t sound like wear and tear to me.

How was the demon manifested?
It was small, hiding or fading in the shadows of our cover. As I croached forward to see what it was, it leaned forward, the size of a baby or small toddler. It shook me, but I maintained my composure …military mind kicked in…but I immediately rememberd something I had hurd, they’re more afraid than you and they have no power over you unless you give it to them. So I showed no emotions. It startled me quite a bit. I had seen it only in paintings or even cartoons…but it wasn’t totally like anything I had ever seen man made before. I’m not mentally ill either…though sometimes I wish I were. The question is why did God allow it? The experience gave me BELIEF that God is all powerful and mighty…that’s my assertion. It’s not like I typically tell people this…it’s embarrassing. Here I have a little anonymity.

There is one story I’m saving for later. It explains why I left going to the seminary to marrying my wife… I was liturally called to her… She was not Catholic and I swore I’d never marry a non-Catholic woman and chose the priesthood since it was calling me…still today I can’t explain it… So I often wonder if the calling is more clearly the diaconate. Only one way to find out…so I’m working towards the diaconate now. Facinated by all the strange things that have occured in my life time and especially since this past year. It’s a miracle that my wife is Catholic and loving it.

Sometimes God uses the exact nature of things to make his point to the individual I beleive. That sort of thing is how I see the things that have happened to so many of us.

Ok, here’s my experience. I’m a cradle Catholic but for a while didn’t live out my faith. After deciding to start going back to Mass and attending a Cursillo I suppose I was allowed to be tested. I was sleeping one night when I became aware of my surroundings. I know I wasn’t fully asleep because I could see my room in the dark. I remember feeling scared and all of a suden, I felt pulled from the core of my body, out of my bed. Lifted out of bed, I felt as if my mouth was being covered so I couldn’t talk. I remember thinking if I could just call Jesus’ name, but I couldn’t talk. With all the muster I could gather, I MUMBLED, “JESUS!”. And, In that instant, “it” was gone. I was back in my bed and all I could do was pray and give thanks.

The next thing that happened wasn’t that long ago, maybe a couple of months ago. For several months now I have been thinking about my relationship with Mary. I guess you could say I really didn’t have one, and I wanted one. I read “True Devotion to Mary” by St. Louis de Montfort and have been asking Mary to help me to learn how to talk to her. I just didn’t know what to do, other than pray the rosary. So, again I was in my bed sleeping. In a moment, I saw a hand, from about the elbow down reaching toward me. It was such a feminine hand. It reached out and touched my face. (that is how I comfort my children) When it touched me I leaned into the caress and smiled. It was so real that I thought when I opened my eyes, I would see my husband touching me. But, when I opened my eyes, I remembered that my husband was working his night shift and he wasn’t there. I know I prayed about that for a day or two. It was her! I know it had to be! Since then I’ve felt so much closer and am having no problem praying and just talking to Mary.

It changed as I was praying the last sorrowful mystery on a Friday right before I went in for Confession. I would have to say it was the second greatest confession of my life. Many sins came to me that I forgot about and they all tumbled out of me and were absolved.

Peace!

Sounds like a intervention on a supernatural level alright if it happened that fast. I have seen far too many ‘golden’ rosaries where the nickel coating has worn off to let through the bronze chain beneath. Have you a pic you can share?

I thought this might be another case of that. Anyway let’s get back on track.

It is joyful when one recognizes his sins especially those that have been long forgotten. 🙂 Only by grace of God, one can remember and/or recognize his old sins.

This is great! I love your stories. For those of us who have had these experiences, they are amazing but not extra ordinary. Those who have not, I’ve seen, want to rationalize it. The experience I’m going to relate to you happened when I was 16. I regularly attended our Baptist church but I knew something was missing. I wasn’t really being taught anything about God & Jesus. It was just socializing in the name of Jesus. I knew where I’d find what I was looking for as I’d seen it when I was 7 and that was the Catholic Church. I attended Mass only once and I had felt Jesus there. I had no idea at the time that the Eucharist was in fact Jesus so I really did see Him as well as feel Him. My parents would not let me join the Catholic Church so I was in a waiting pattern as far as my religious experience went at that time.

Now to my vision - I dreamed one night that I was standing in front of Jesus. All around us was white. His dress, His chair, all the clothing of the thousands of people standing around us was white. His hair and body were what you would expect a 16 year old protestant to imagine them to be (ie out of pictures I had seen). His face, on the other hand, was a light so bright it should have been blinding. It wasn’t blinding to me. I could look right at it and feel no pain. There was this low murmering sound all around me. I looked around and realized that everyone of those thousands of people were talking to Jesus at the same time I was! It was incredible! I asked Him so many, many questions. Why, why, why…just like a child. He answered every one of them. I felt this incredible sense of peace and joy and at the same time great excitment! Don’t ask me how all of those fit together because I’ve never experienced it again and I’m now 42. When I woke up I only remembered 2 of the questions I had asked Him. 1.) Why can’t I see Your Face? His answer was “Because it’s not time.” 2.) Who am I going to marry? (hey, I was a 16 year old girl what do ya expect?) He laughed. A laugh filled with such genuine joy and amusement. Then the dream abruptly changed. It went from being color to black and white. I was riding in a small aluminum fishing boat. I was in the front of the boat and a boy my age was sitting in the back of the boat at the helm of the outboard motor. We were in a canal with high stone walls on each side and arched bridges spanning the canal itself. I looked at the boy. I could see his hair, the shape of his body and the clothes that he wore. His face however, was a grey blur. I did not question this boy’s presence with me. He was simply a part of me. After riding in the boat for a while, we were then on the land next to one of the arched bridges. We walked hand in hand and all around us construction was going on. I remember thinking that Jesus was showing me Heaven. This contruction, I thought, must be for all the souls living on earth now. I thought “cool, I hope we can pick out our house now and have it waiting for us”. How naive. It was at that time that the dream came to an abrupt end. I woke up feeling incredibly clean and new. I felt such joy. Nothing compared to what I felt in the dream but it was more than I had ever felt before.

I tried discussing it with someone whom I thought would understand. Boy was I wrong. He tried to phychoanalyze the entire thing while I KNEW that I had talked with Jesus. I clammed up at that point and never talked about it again until I entered the Catholic Church in 2007. As for that boy - I met him a short time later, though I didn’t recognize that fact until after we got married 3 years later. I had supressed that dream because of “my friends” reaction. That boy’s hair, body shape and clothes were all the same. And that boat? I cannot tell you how many times we’ve been in that boat fishing! Yes, that exact same boat! and you know what? that boat has enough room for 4 and we had 2 children (unfortunatley we lost 3). There are other comparisons I could make to that dream, like the high walls being the difficulty we would encounter from marrying so young (age 19 now celebrating anniversary #23). ect…

However, I know I spoke with our Lord and that is enough for me.

God Bless You All

This is a very interesting subject…great thread!

These are some amazing experiences, thanks for sharing.

The only thing that’s ever happened to me was shortly after my grandmother died several years ago, I had a dream one night that my brother, cousins, etc were sitting in her house gathered around her, and she was telling us how happy she was and that she was fine. At first, I figured it was just another dream. I spoke with my dad that same week, and I didn’t mention my dream b/c like I said, I thought it was just another random dream. My dad, out of nowhere, said that my younger cousin (probably 3ish at the time), had a dream that grandma came back and just held her.

My grandmother(like everyone’s grandmother), was absolutely crazy about her grand kids. I just thought it was odd that during the same week, I have this vivid dream, and my 3 yr old cousin has the same type of dream. Especially since I think it’s not too common for a small child to be able to explain things so clearly.

Maybe I’m crazy, but I think my grandmother was telling us everything is great, and that Heaven is wonderful (probably the understatement of the day) I have dreams all the time, but this one was different.

I will not talk about myself but i will relate what happened to a friend of mine. She studied Hotel management at uni, graduated and got a good post job…very funny and nice girl…one day she was at work doing her normal duties…on the same day she resigned and told us later that she will become a nun…it was a big surprise since she never talked about such a thing, she was devout but well…she graduated and just got a great job and becoming a nun was something we never thought of …she kept smiling, seeing us with open mouthes, and she said, on that day, while she was working , she looked beside her and saw Jesus standing next to her…and she wouldn’t give any more details and now she is a very happy nun. I haven’t seen it with my own eyes, but… i know the girl pretty well!

I was liturally called to her…
I think since you have had such clear manifestations of the supernatural, I think one of your vocations might be to pray for those who suffer from a “distant” Christ, who never are shown a sign and feel dry as such, like Mother Theresa did or Padre Pio in his youth, etc…

Most of my unexplained experiences seem to involve premonitions of various types. I don’t really understand it myself. Sometimes a thought just pops into my head and I know what’s going to happen.

Just for an example, one day I was going to run errands, and I knew that if I did, I would get into a minor car accident. I just shrugged it off. When I was going to turn in to the parking lot of a book store, I knew that if I pulled in, I would be hit on the driver’s side by the door. I thought I was just being paranoid, so I pulled in anyway. And wouldn’t you know, a woman backed into my car as I waited to let a pedestrian cross in front of me. Go figure. Although to be honest, the dent was about a foot off from where I thought it would be. I’ve had many similar experiences while driving. One time, that forewarning even saved my life.

Sometimes I do see major events. In Dec of 2004, I kept having visions and dreams of a tidal wave hitting the land. It played over and over again in my mind every time I closed my eyes. It was like an annoying song stuck in my head, except it was a vision that kept repeating itself. It was driving me crazy. Then the terrible tragedy happened with the tsunami, and I understood. I never saw the vision again.

I didn’t see 9/11, but I felt it. It was a crushing sense of foreboding, so intense that all I wanted to do is stay in bed with the covers pulled up over my head. I had been worried about hijackings when I was flying into New York in July of 2001, but I never made the connection.

I don’t really understand what it all means. I think some things can be changed, but others are just meant to be understood, to prepare us to deal with the event. I don’t talk about it in the real world. I think it makes most people uncomfortable.

Other things I usually don’t talk about: a near death experience where I saw a glimpse of heaven, experiencing the ecstasy of God’s presence (which is very much like the NDE), and answered prayers that border on miraculous. Life can be a little strange at times, but it’s wonderful. 🙂

I’ve had almost the same dream. I didn’t find out my granny died until 2 weeks after her death (we had the ringer off our phone & no answering machine at the time). Anyway I stayed in a deep depression, feeling guilty that I wasn’t there.
About a month later, I had this dream. I was looking down at 3 of my friends & myself sitting at a kitchen table. So the phone rings, one friend answers it & says Chrissy it’s for you. I picked up the phone said hello & it was my Granny. It was literally her voice & she told me don’t worry that everything is fine.
I popped up in the middle of the night, crying hysterically, shook my Dh awake & told him Granny said not to worry anymore that things are fine. He was very confused until I was able to settle down & explain the dream.

That next morning I woke up feeling revitalized if that makes sense. I no longer had to worry about her.

I understand why she didn’t elaborate. First it’s very special to have such a vivid vision if you will. I"ve only hit the tip of the iceberg on my experiences. Normally I’d keep them to myself as I did all these years, until I converted and heard Father talk about one of his friends…a Francisan Friar like himself. The story was so similar to St. Fuastina’s…duirng a funeral mass. For some unknown reason I’ve felt compelled to tell people these experiences. You see we experience several big miracles that involved not only strange phenoma, but healing of our yougest’s disease manifested in the form of several visually unatractive hemangiomas. CMTC…look it up. It covered her entire right leg and private areas, even climbing above her anal area - significant. It not only disappeared but the the specialist rediagnosed it as something else and that’s not even visible anymore. A medical univesity out of the Netherlands tried to pay our way for research on our daughter but we chose to forgo that…too stressful for everyone.

Anyway, you guys are doing remarkable here. I just knew I wasnt’ the only one. One day I’d like to write a book about the many experiences. God IS speaking to us.

I saw Mary. I saw my Guardian Angel. I saw bright flashes of light in the sign of a cross at my first confession. I’ve had many dreams that came true. I should have died several times over but somehow survived without physical harm, with the exception of one in the military…God warned me. I saw a vision of my wife on a night I consecrated myself to Him for the priesthood on my knees then suddenly I when into a sort of “vision mode” [hard to describe] I saw the sillouette of a beautiful brunette. Beautiful girls never paid much attention to me unless they knew I was a seminarian for some strange reason. It’s almost like God was setting me up for 2 vocations…but how?

I even met my wife in a strange way. Another time…But while I ran from her realizing our marriage would never work because she was not Catholic and even worse her entire family were extreme fundamentalists. I heard the voice of God tell me 3 times “you can marry her”. Before each response I gave a good excuse why I shouldn’t. The last voice was “It’s alright, you can marry her”. Then a very warm to hot sensation engaged me beginning from head to toe and a great peace suddenly came over me. The strange part is that I was in a bar with one of my soldiers to keep him out of trouble and his several hottie girlfriends kept hitting on me - something that never happens. It made be feel very uncomfortable. After the experience the girls suddenly began tretaing me like a brother…nothing to worry about. It’s was wonderful. A potential place of sin suddenly became a safe place for me. Not my friend though. He wasn’t religious and later described to me like he was bragging something I though horrible and very disordered… He introduced me to my wife and while he was calling her up and taking her out on dates he couldn’t get what he wanted from her and discarded her…later I found out that they were only dating in his head. Egomaniac I guess.

That’s only part of the story. But really the only reason I married my wife. After we got married I started to realize just how beautiful she really is. I never noticed before. How strange. Her sillouette was exactly as I saw in my vision a year and a half before I even knew her. I left the Catholic Church…that part was what really challenged me once I realized the level of my mistake. I think God sent me to her to save her from her situation. Many years later I learned how sad she really was in side. And ultimately now she has found peace in the Catholic Church. We crossed the Tiber in 2007. Of course I was Catholic all along without understanding many things that kept calling me to the diaconate… Long crazy story, but significant in our lives.

What triggered me to write about this…I recently read a story about a Bishop’s experiences similar to ours.

EXACTLY!!! It’s almost like you could see my soul…That is exactly what I do.

My wife calls me her “E-5 Man” now. Special Forces…google it.

I offer up my prayers constantly for people separated and chained in their existence, feeling hopeless at times. It’s a challenge…but I feel called to it.

When my Dad died, I gathered up a small box of items that had some sentimental value to me and took them home with me.

One night as my family was gathering to pray, the box of mementos fell off the closet shelf where I had set it (for what seems to be no apparent reason).

As I picked up the items to place them back in the box, I found his rosary, which I absolutely do not remember placing in the box to begin with.

Oh yeah- I saw my car’s odometer running backwards a couple of times while I was driving (forward).

Other things I usually don’t talk about: a near death experience where I saw a glimpse of heaven, **experiencing the ecstasy of God’s presence **(which is very much like the NDE), and answered prayers that border on miraculous. Life can be a little strange at times, but it’s wonderful. 🙂
I’ve had this 3 times in just the past year. but it stopped for some reason I can’t explain. It’s happened before. But it was like being cradled by God the Father…surrounded by heaven. Amazing.

I’ve only receently started talking to select people about these things, but most of the really intense ones I sort of keep to myself. I believe. If Christ can be made flesh in the Eucharist, then these are little things in comparison. Mary’s the one that shocked me the most, bringing about peace of mind praying to her for her intercession like my own mother. In fact, we call her mother around my house now. She is OUR mother we say… My formerly fundamentalist anti-Catholic and anti-symbols wife decorated our 3000 s.f. home with sacramentals in every room including 3’ statues and 3’ by 2’ crucifix in our living room prayer corner complete with candles, Saint statues and incense. It’s wonderful. It’s like God answered my prayer form many years ago, something that I didn’t beleive would ever happen to me.

Neat thread. Thanks Vocatio.

Not something I “saw”, but instead heard.

I was driving I 59 on my way to Texas from NC. I had been driving for a while, and was drowsy. I had started to drift off, when I heard a voice say “Wake up, Jon!” I say a voice because it was not in my head. It was a voice! Oh, I forgot to mention I was driving alone.

On holiday in some woods stopped to video my wife. Behind us was a woman dressed in green gliding down a slope. When I had put my camera away and we were about to leave the wood, I tripped on a piece of root growing out of the ground. After leaving the wood, told my wife I had to go back to warn the old lady so she did not trip and hurt herself.

My wife refused to believe she was there. I went back but she was no-where to be seen. I was iritated my wife did not believe me. Told her I would prove it as I had her image on my video camera. On playing it back there was no image of her.

Describing to my wife what she looked like, she went ashen white and said I had just described her grandmother I had never met.

When my father died I could feel his presence in a room in my house.

When I was a young man went to a scrap yard to look for some spare parts for my old car. Spent ages just roaming around looking at old cars. Eventually went to my car, got my spanners out and removed the bits I needed. Went to the cabin to pay but it was locked. Went to the owners house up top of a hill. Rang the bell, the owners wife upon opening the door looked as if she was going to faint. Told me the scrap yard had closed hours ago and the 6-guard dogs were roaming around loose. The owner insisted I went into his home while he went to round up the dogs before I could leave.

Neither of them could understand how I had managed to walk around without being savaged to death. I believe it was my guardian Angel.

Receiving from the Challice had the strongest taste of blood. Felt around my mouth with my tongue convinced blood was coming from a tooth socket. Surprise on finding there was no evidence or blood but the taste was very strong.

On long term sick leave from work due to a very painful back injury. Went to Mass though crippled through a back injury. In a lot of pain made the effort to stand for the Lords Prayer. At the start of the prayer I could barely stand but was determined to do it for the Lord. By the end of the prayer, realised I was standing upright, my back was ok. Went back to work the very next day.

Ability to sense in a house where a great trauma or tragedy has taken place. It feels very forboding, heavy and depressing. I am not a medium nor believe in such things. I assume lots of folk can feel this but it is not every one who can. I put it down to emotions that linger long after the event which I seem to just tune into.

I have been described as ‘blotting paper’ able to soak up other peoples feelings and emotions even when they do not vocalise them and try to keep them hidden. Often when praying for someone, come over feeling very sad, depressed, heavy, overloaded. At that point they say they were healed. It soon leaves me. I have no idea what it is. I would welcome an explanation. Catholic friends advise me not to pray in that way as they say I am vulnerable as they think I do not have the strength of Spirit to cope with that type of prayer. How do you get that strength of Spirit?

Blessings and peace
