Hi Lost Sheep

I don’t think I’ve ever threw up. How much wine do you drink?

You have a good point. I guess if we were just properly educated on drinking wine we would have a better experience. Personally, I get sleepy and fall asleep. But it was not always so.

And go easy on the wine.
It was a joke. 😛 Actually, I’ve been sober now for over 15 years.

Good for you.

As I get older, I find I still enjoy a glass of wine, just that the glass keeps getting smaller.

Actually, this was one of the propositions condemned by the Holy Office (now the Congregation for the Divine Faith) in 1679:
  1. The act of marriage exercised for pleasure only is entirely free of all 1. fault and venial defect.

However, this seems to refer to the positive shutting out of the ends of procreation and unity. Having sex for the pleasure it brings and only the pleasure it brings would be akin to eating solely for pleasure after one is full. As long as the two primary ends are implicit in the act (they don’t need to be consciously thought of), the marital act would seem licit.
