Only the most holy, the most “worthy” Mormons are allowed into your temples. They need a temple “recommend” (a certificate of holiness) to gain entrance. It is counter-intuitive to think that they need to lock up valuables in the temple. Why are the Swiss Guards some of the best trained military troops in the world, and are armed to the teeth? Why are there locks on the poor box at St. Patricks’ cathedral?
On the other hand, anyone is welcomed into Vatican City or into St. Patrick’s cathedral. No one asks to see your certificate of holiness at the door. You really don’t see the difference?
