ok this will probably be confusing but today I was laying in bed, still in my workout clothes from earlier. I had been wearing compression shorts so things were ‘tight’ in the lower area of my body. While lying there it became uncomfortable so I was going to try and get out of the compression shorts, but when i tried i became rather stimulated. I was trying to avoid stimulating myself so I just decided to leave it be uncomfortable and I’d try again later.

Well while laying there i kept getting more stimulated but i kept telling myself dont do anything, just lay still, keep your hands by your head and it will go away. Eventually my body just ejaculated i wasn’t trying to make it happen or anything but I’m concerned now because i ejaculated does that mean I’ve masturbated, have i committed a mortal sin because of this?

NO! 🙂

For a sin to be mortal, you must know it’s mortal and do it in spite of that (with full consent and intention of going against God’s will). You tried avoiding it, so you did not sin mortally.

God bless.

“Mortal sin requires full knowledge and complete consent” (CCC 1859), which hasn’t occurred here - complete consent is clearly lacking. Therefore there is no mortal sin.

The most that can be expected here is a possible venial sin.“By masturbation is to be understood deliberate stimulation of the genital organs” (CCC 2351) - which you didn’t do.

Therefore the most I would suggest you could be guilty of would be thoughts you had while this occured. That is something only you can determine because sometimes we have lustful thoughts against our own will. Either way, it is venial sin at most, so if you are feeling guilty then confess to God and move on, possibly mentioning the thoughts at your next confession.

Either way, God bless you for seeking to follow God’s commandments so faithfully!!👍

If compression shorts made you ejaculate, I think your body physically needed a release. I don’t know…I have never come close to ejaculating from a piece of clothing.

Males have unbidden ejaculations. (I’m sure that females have comparable physiological functions, too, but how would I know?) If it had not happened then, it would have happened while you were asleep.

Don’t worry about it.

The God we worship is God of love. He does not sit waiting eagerly to count our sins and level them against us. How on earth can unmeditated ejaculation constitute sin?

As previous members have advised, please do not fret. All should be well with you.

Or a Dave Chappelle parody of an R Kelly song…but if the kid is serious, since he apparently didn’t intentionally try to do anything, then I do not believe any mortal sin was committed in this case…he may want to mention next time in confession to a priest just to be sure

To the OP: You are good kid…I wouldn’t sweat it, you are probably at an age where your hormones are going crazy and if you honestly didn’t try to make it happen, then there can’t be any mortal sin as a result of it
lol, I don’t know if this person is being serious or pulling our legs. This probably isn’t appropriate but this reminds me of a song from saturday night live called _____ in my pants.

Oh dear…

Invadersomeone -
You are fearfully and wonderfully made, as the psalmist tells us. God made you a sexual being, as are all human beings. All of us, male or female, will at times have sexual feelings and release whether we intend to or not. The point of the teachings against masturbation demonstrate the importance of not abusing our sexuality and pursuing pleasure for its own sake, as well as recognizing that human beings were made in such a way that their physical bodies will have longings that cause them to seek a mate, much in the same way that our souls long for God and cannot be satisfied by anything less. You do not have to repress your sexuality, just reserve it as the special gift you can one day give your spouse if and when you marry. You do not have to strive to avoid arousal or ejaculation either. Just don’t allow your sexual feelings to get the best of you. Give God thanks for your unique and healthy body and ask His divine assistance in understanding its proper place in your life.

i have another question…if you want to shave “down there” is it a sin?
