Hi Everyone!

So my niece/God daughter is receiving her First Communion the end of April (I think, better verify). I’m trying to find a **unique ** gift idea. Not a Rosary (she already has one) Crucifix (already has one) or wall plaque (boring). I want something that will commemorate the event, and that she won’t lose/destroy by the time she’s a teenager.

I’m leaning towards an engraved necklace of sorts, but wanted to pick your brains to see if there’s any other ideas even MORE different? I’m all ears, thanks!

She might like one of these to carry with her and pray with:

They can be personalized, I have one with the date of my reception into the Church engraved on the back.

How about a Catholic teen bible? I’ve purchased this one for several teens and it has been great. You could also purchase a bible cover for it to make it more complete.

You could also purchase a butterfly pendant. Butterflies are very biblical.

I got a rosary, a missal and a scapular (+enrollment). Still have all three and my FHC was almost 50 years ago. They remind me I still belong to God, after all these years.

How about a Crucifix or Miraculous Medal to wear around her neck.

Pardon Crucifix? Miraculous Medal?

I got a really nice… I think onyx and pewter rosary with a pewter box from my great grandmother and a bunch of Saint medals from family. I can’t remember what else I got. Cards for sure.

A nice rosary ring might also be a nice gift. I wear mine every day.

That butterfly pendant SecretGarden linked is really beautiful! My sister would love something like that.

My favorite thing or any gift-giving now is trees! They can’t lose them and they are beneficial as all get out. At a donation of $1.00 per tree, how can you go wrong? Weddings, anniversaries, funerals, et cetera. Plus, you get a lovely certificate that you can print and give, or Arbor Day will send for you. Win-win.

I tend to give them medals for whichever Saint they are named after
