Unity of the Testaments

Perhaps the title of this thread should be completion of the Old in the New Testament, but I digress:

On EWTN recently, Mark 3 and Luke 6 were discussed as being the same event of Jesus healing on the Sabbath a man with a withered hand. The panel described how the scribes and the Pharisees were watching to see whether He would cure on the Sabbath. The panel mentioned how every cure on the Sabbath was Jesus’ idea and not a response to a request for a cure.

Also mentioned was an Old Testament Prophesy that said that when a man with a withered hand was cured the Messiah was near or similar.

Please help me identify this Old Testament Prophesy. I might have to buy the DVD of the EWTN program, but I’ve forgotten which one it was. Thanks for your help.

This may be a little abstract, but in Isaiah, Chapter 40, there is the prophecy that is fulfilled in John the Baptist, “a voice crying in the wilderness”.

Verses 6 & 7 say:

A voice says, “Cry out!” I answer, “What shall I cry out?” "All mankind is grass, and all their glory like the flower of the field.7 The grass withers, the flower wilts, when the breath of the LORD blows upon it. (So then, the people is the grass.)

In this context of Isaiah, the prophet is announcing the coming of the Messiah.

The definition of irony:

The Pharisees went out and immediately took counsel with the Herodians against him to put him to death.

The Pharisees seek to kill Jesus for doing work on the Sabbath. What’s ironic is that holding counsel to discuss how to kill someone is considered “Work” on the Sabbath.

The Pharisees are themselves guilty of the same reason they intend to use to kill Jesus!!!

Thank you, NW, and the panel on the EWTN show called it the very definition of hypocrisy, and they used the word irony, too. However, the OT verse cited that I still seek mentions a withered hand.

‘Withered’ appears 17 times in the NAB Old Testament, 623 times, ‘hand’ and ‘withered hand’ not once, but I Kings 13 contains the verses I sought and is the one mentioned by EWTN even if not exactly as I rermembered noted in my question that began this. The 34 verses of I Kings 13 seems to have more prophesy than I am able to discuss or discover. Others here not so constrained, it is hoped, will offer their discoveries,
