The book about the psych experiments at the University of Wisconsin mentioned in the article is one of my favorites: *Love at Goon Park: Harry Harlow and the Science of Affection * by Deborah Blum. A great read. I highly recommend it.

P.S.: Caution - this book will tear your heart out.
