The people who are provided aide by universal basic income are those who suffer from incurring poverty and reoccuring problems in their life because of a lack of work. For example, people who have no way off of social security. Their is very little way for them to afford anything more than the basic necessities of life, and very little means of enjoying their kingdom come here on earth. That is why we need universal basic income.

The duty to help those who need charity is very different than a duty to provide a regular income with no work. People deserve to know they earned what they have by having done productive labor.
Even retired people on a pension they earned benefit from feeling they contribute as they can. This is a need that capable people have.

Why? Because free money is awesome man and nothings every gonna change that.
Maybe you need to work a 60 hour week as a single person with no dependents and have almost 40% of your paycheck taken for tax and see how you feel about giving up more taxes to the government. Im married now so I get a little break but not by much lol. The money is not free. Ill be paying for it… You will be paying for it

If I work about 18 to 20 hours of overtime and make $2600 gross income that week and get about $800 taken for taxes, I want to donate to charity of my choice with the rest of my money. I don’t trust the government to put my money to good use. You said “why wouldent we want to help kids?” Well, Ill donate to a Catholic organization that helps kids… I wont ask the government to take more of my paycheck so that they can do it. I dont trust them to do a good job of it.

That’s how it’s sold, but that’s not how it actually works.

Especially for people who need the money, and are unable to find work
I live in the ‘Rust Belt’, and even here, where many manufacturing jobs are gone forever, there are more jobs available than there are people looking for work.
