I am using the term Chalcedonian Church as an unambiguous and historically neutral term to call the the body of Christians who adhered to the teachings of the Council of Chalcedon before the East-West Schism (that body being the predecessor of the two bodies which today are commonly called the Roman Catholic Church and the Eastern Orthodox Church). It would be too ambiguous to say the Catholic or Orthodox (or Catholic and Orthodox) Church, since the Non-Chalcedonians and the Nestorians both also claimed (and still claim) to be the Catholic Church, and to hold to the Orthodox faith. Are you implying that the Eastern Orthodox did not agree with what was said at Chalcedon, regarding the nature of Christ?
I thought only the Oriental Orthodox were the ones that dissented after this Council![]()
