I’m not sure how this reflects on the school in general. I’ve taken 5 or 6 courses through STEP, and I’ve been an ND football fan. But this kind of thing…I just don’t know. It’s sad.

I have heard people say things like this before.

The weird thing and I hate to bring race into it again but the demographics show minorities as a whole in general have quite a bit of a higher rate on abortion than whites.

Notre Dame has easily the most Catholic campus I’ve every seen. Masses available all around the clock, very late night Masses, amazing access to the Sacraments.

I’ve heard the campus is beautiful. I’d planned to attend a Foundations seminar there they seminar, but didn’t here back from them until after I’d made summer teaching plans.

Incredible! Notre Dame, which is French for “Our Lady” and refers to the Blessed Virgin Mary! What an insult this is to my Mary! As @0Scarlett_nidiyilii rightfully states; CINO!

I’d never send my kids there. But honestly that’s like saying I’m boycotting Ferrari.

Looking seriously at switching to Catholic Distance University certificate course. They’re $165 per course, bound to go up when they get full regional and/or ATS accreditation. Don’t need any more grad credits, even though I’m taking a grad level course with Harvard now. But that course was only $250.00, thanks to a special grant for educators.

That’s all wonderful. But how to reconcile that with faculty promoting a very anti-Catholic agenda? I can’t fathom it.

I am a very orthodox Catholic.
My son attends Notre Dame.
Daily Mass in every Dorm, A Mass neerly every hour on Sunday.

Yes, many on the staff and administration are CINO, like nearly every Catholic university. But there are also many solid professors and priests.

There is even an organization devoted to informing students which professors present solid Catholic teaching…Something you will have a hard time finding at other Catholic universities. Linked below…
http://www.ndcatholic.com/welc
NDCatholic.com is designed to assist Notre Dame students who want to receive an authentic Catholic education at Notre Dame. The faculty profiles on the website identify 141 members of the faculty of the College of Arts & Letters who will serve students well in their quest.”

Also wonderful. And I’ve had some orthodoxically Catholic tutors in the STEP courses.
With so many good Catholic professors, I still don’t get why ND continues to employ those who are pro-abortion, flaunt their homosexual lifestyle and same sex “marriage,” etc. Surely there are devoutly Catholic PhDs who can fill those positions.

This is a problem with virtually all universities. Once you get such professors it is virtually impossible to get rid if them, and once they achieve a critical mass they can perpetuate their influence by controlling the hiring and tenure processes. It is surely no surprise that this person is in the “gender studies” program. That’s where this type of insanity flourishes, but the idea that Notre Dame as a whole has surrendered to the dark side is as foolish as treating your car as worthless because someone spilled coffee on the seats. It is in every sense a Catholic school, despite the existence of stains like this, and should be celebrated for what it is, not abandoned because it isn’t perfect.

When it comes to “gender studies” I’m with the prime minister of Hungary. At Notre Dame and elsewhere, such departments are home for courses in “queer studies,” and promote ideology about sexuality, gender, marriage and family that directly opposes Church teaching.
