Unsure about God's will

If I am unsure of God’s will due to mental instability and disorders, can I pray for an external sign to know of His will?
 
It’s probably best to just pray for God’s help in discerning His will. Along with that, if you can find someone with a good spiritual background (perhaps the priest or another person in the parish), it will be good to talk things over and find out what you can do.
