Gay clergy may ‘marry’ in secret

Dr Williams, speaking in Egypt, said: “If it can be established that a priest seeking to register a civil partnership is in fact active in a sexual union, then that priest is liable to the discipline of the Church.”

Civil partnerships between homosexual couples will become legal in the UK from next month, and up to 400 Church of England clergy who are in gay partnerships are expected to formalise their unions.

Bishops will be challenged on their approach to civil partnerships at the General Synod, which begins at Church House, Westminster, tomorrow.

The Rev Richard Kirker, of the Lesbian and Gay Christian Movement, believes that many clergy will register their partnerships secretly to avoid what he describes as an “inquisition”.
 
The Angelican will accept gay marriage. That doesn’t suprise me at all they were the first to accept divorce. Then they were the first to accept contraception. Now they will be the first to accept gay so called marriage. It is a communion founded on dissent and will end on dissent.
The Angelican community will first spilt than will die. It is very very sad.
 
In their desperation to appease a few and bring unity, it seems to have the opposite effect disunity.
 
I guess there are things more important to them then Sacred Scripture and Sacred Tradition. The heritage of Henry 8th.

Serves 'em right for stealing Catholic Churches and turning them into sepulchral tourist attractions. Unfortunately history repeats itself - and that includes reformations. New Springtime, anyone? 'Ooh, shut that door!’

How long will it take an insurging islamic ‘brotherhood’ to put their Big Gay Church of Hugs to the sword. Perhaps that’s what they want, what they really really want. Discipline! After all there’s no frisson like forbidden passion. ‘oooh, you go girlfriend!’

The Archbishop and the Queen should run from the so-called Anglican Communion back to the CC. The CofE has “tolerated” away Christianity.
