Update on contraception

Hello my brothers and sisters,

It was a month or so back in which I posted a thread about my wife wanting to “fix” herself so we wouldn’t have kids. I completely objected to this and we got into it. Well we ended up getting pregnant AND I was hoping that the duration of the pregnancy would help her have a change of heart…well we are four months in and she is still having thoughts of doing some form of contraception. I am not happy with it and I don’t want to start up another argument with her because she can be very harsh to me in return. I don’t know what to do here. Can someone please provide me with some help or prayers please because I personally feel like I have distanced myself away from her emotionally and she sees it. However, I don’t think she knows its because of the way I feel about her decision.

I’ll say a prayer for you and your wife. If you have distanced yourself from her emotionally, you should let her know why. Even if you disagree completely, communication and prayer will be the “glue” that holds your marriage together. And if she is dead set in her choice, prayer is likely the only thing you can do…and happens to also be the more powerful tool you have.

It’s funny how we usually end up at our wits’ end in a situation, having exhausted ourselves physically, emotionally, spiritually, etc…before we finally hand something over to God…when we should have handed it to Him from the beginning. (And I’m not trying to point at you in this, arnmenchaca74; I have done this same routine time and time again myself. )
