Thank them? Not me. I plan on writing a letter though calling them on their hyprocisy. Here’s a quote from the above link:

NBC Entertainment chief Kevin Reilly had earlier commented on the “Live to Tell” performance, saying, “We viewed it and didn’t see it as being inappropriate.”

OK, madonna hanging on a cross with a crown of thorns isn’t inappropriate, but talking about God (in a positive way) in a cartoon is inappropriate?

Of course then we can all consider whether if madonna was mocking Mohammad, what would NBCs response be?
