Updates about SSPX

I want to start this thread as place where we can share information about the ongoing talks between SSPX and Vatican, so if you know of any updates please post them.

I understand that many of us like or dislike the SSPX for various reasons. I don’t want this thread to turn into a bunch of “heated” debates about our personal views of the SSPX. If it does then the moderators will probably close the thread. That being said, we all want the talks between the Vatican and SSPX to be successful, so let’s try to keep this thread focused on that.

I have asked SSPX priests about the talks and all they will tell me is that the SSPX and the Vatican want to keep the talks private until something comes from them. The SSPX believes that if the talks get out into the open it will hurt communications between the two parties. I doubt we will hear anything for quite some time, these things tend to move slowly.

good point. and if you really want to know, wait until the Holy Father and Bishop Fellay actually make a statement. there’s no point in pondering on any speculation. Wait for an announcement from the Vatican and from Bishop Fellay. it is not going to happen over night. it will likely take years before anything happens. until then, why speculate?
