Okay, I have an email account with Yahoo and I just found information about abortion, including who to talk to about one with NARAL and Planned Parenthood’s contact info. included, on Yahoo Health. Now I feel like I should cancel my account but first I have to copy all of my old emails somewhere else so I can save them. I can’t even believe this!

Try G-Mail. You can use your Google Mail to sign into YouTube and Blogger.

So isn’t your complaint with Yahoo Health, rather than with Yahoo Mail? Perhaps you think anything related to Yahoo should be jettisoned. If so, I apologize for asking the question. But it is possible to use Yahoo Mail strictly as a mail service, without all of the other Yahoo services.

Yes, the person could install a mail client, like Thuderbird, and then use this client to download their email from the server and send email to others. I think that as these services are free, it might not be in conflict to continue using something that is freely provided. It is not like you’re providing the company with revenue. I would suggest you talk to your priest before making a rash decision which would have a major impact on your life.

What you suggest is probably quite simple, although I would probably mess it up. :o

I use the classic version of Yahoo Mail, which isn’t loaded down with a lot of extras. That is what I as thinking about when I made my earlier comment.

Actually, Thunderbird is super easy to set up. It comes with wizards for hooking into all the major free mail providers. It’s what I recommend to all my clients and I have yet to have someone have trouble setting it up once they got over the initial fear you are expressing here.

If you’re wondering, that’s probably about 600 people who haven’t had a problem setting it up.
