I received a postcard in the mail yesterday from Planned Parenthood. It’s bad enough they have to call emergency contraception a “huge victory.” (For who, the devil?) But attached is a pre-addressed postcard to my senator, with my name in the return address spot, saying “I strongly support the FDA’s recent decidsion to approve Plan B for over-the-counter sales. … I urge you to support efforts to make EC broadly accessible to all women in IL and to promote efforts that help women prevent unintended pregnancies.” All I have to do is sign and send in the card. Terrible! How many misinformed voters will sign and send this card, and what impact will it have? I know I plan to write my own letter to my senator in an attempt to somewhat counter PP’s efforts.

I have a friend who used to get pro choice mailings. They came w/ a post paid envelope so she could send them a donation.

She used to stuff the envelope w/ pro-life materials and mail it back to them - on their dime 🙂

Too bad all you got was a postcard. —KCT

Maybe you can put a new message on the postcard, and send *that *off to your senator? After all, they gave you the postage so you could voice your opinion. 🙂

I agree…
Send the postcard back… making your comments and thoughts known!
CROSS OUT the points you disagree with… and WRITE your opinion!
If your senator is meant to represent you, then you need to tell him how you feel!

I love the idea of sending back pro-life material in THEIR envelopes!
😃
Good luck!

I agree it’s a good idea to use PP’s postage to voice your opinion, however, I’d be concerned that the recipient wouldn’t read your remarks and just recognise your (name removed by moderator)ut as FOR plan B and count you as such.

I LOVE the idea of returning pro-life material in PP’s business reply mail. I’m told you can return up to 60 lbs. of material on a business reply.

whenever you get those postage prepaid postcards… you could always get a cinderblock, or three of four bricks… or a 50 pound bag of salt…package them in a box or wrapper, and tape the return postcard to the top.

it’ll cost them a few bucks in postage.

i’m not saying it’s a Christian thing to do. but it makes my simple mind laugh.

That’s a good one! 👍

Use file labels to cover all PP related “wordage” on the postcard. Write your own message, return address, et cetera, on the file labels. Xerox a copy. Send the postcard to your senator. Mail the xerox back to PP with a brief note explaining what you did.

I am somehow on PP’s mailing list. I forward their materials to my Diocese’s right to life director (he asked me to do so, his feeling being “know thy enemy”) then I use their envelope or postcard to write my own prolife message to my representative on their dime.

I had received some Planned Parenthood literature and an envelope asking for a donation several years ago. I used their envelope which was post-paid by them, sent them a letter saying that I am pro-life and do not support anything they stand for and to take me off their list immediately. They complied. I haven’t received anything more from them. I do support pro-life organizations and have contacted legislators to support the right to life.
