Urgent - Communion in a Mortal Sin

I went to confession 3 days ago since I was going to be out of town. A series of events led me to lose patience and not conducting myself properly. Because this would be my 3rd Saturday of the Immaculate Heart of Mary devotion, I told myself it was venial sins. Now, I went to Holy Mass, took communion and wine. My throat is now bothering me as if I were to get sick.

PLEASE PRAY FOR THE HOLY SPIRIT to answer my question. If I am in Mortal Sin, to keep me bodily safe until my next confession. I will go to confession asap but I need clarity and peace. Thanks spiritual brothers and sisters.

I hope losing patience isn’t the standard. Pretty sure I’m going to do that at least once on the drive to Mass today:D
 
I will pray for you but I’m sure you’re fine. Just go to confession as soon as you can.

Someone who is this concerned about doing the third Saturday of the Mary Devotion seems unlikely to have truly committed a mortal sin, to me.
 
Bring it up with your priest, not here.
We can’t possibly know you or the state of your soul.
Will pray for you to find peace.
 
Do you tend to have anxiety and possible scrupulosity? I know we don’t want to be lax in our morality but it may indeed have only been venial sin. A good confessor can help you sort it out. God wants you to find peace and healing, so that you can seek His forgiveness for what is sin but also be able to not beat yourself up over common human weaknesses.

And if you are indeed scrupulous, some materials you may read on sin might be too intense and frightening for you until you’ve had a chance to resolve the scrupulosity. A confessor who knows about the condition can advise you in this regard also.

I find the Divine Mercy chaplet helpful - perhaps it would also bring you spiritual calm until you can see a confessor. Jesus wants you to trust in His Mercy. God bless you!
 
This is the natural conclusion of parsing everything we do as either “venial” or “mortal.” You cannot accidentally or unknowingly commit a mortal sin. Losing patience isn’t a sin one way or another. If you committed serious sin, then you would know it.
 
The person did say that they were going to confession ASAP so presumably they will discuss it with a priest at that point.

They are just asking for our prayers right now. (I said a couple.)

I am sure someone who just went to confession 3 days ago for First Saturday is not going to wait to find a priest to talk to about this.
 
Did you punch someone in the nose?

I hate that when that happens. Some lunatic picked a fight with my husband, and he came home with a black eye and broken glasses.

I asked for prayers so God would keep me safe until my next confessions 🤷

I love the Divine Mercy chaplet, I find it spiritually nourishing ❤️

I do think I need a spiritual director. I returned to the Church after a 20 year absence, so I do tend to overthink things ( offenses). Thanks so much for your (name removed by moderator)ut ❤️
