Urgent help...Gaming morality?

Is it moral to play video games? More specifically, ones that deal with violence or killing (such as Halo) or Magic and/or Mythology (such as Runescape)? I personally do not wish to partake in these activities, but merely play the games for entertainment.

EDIT: I’m looking for the church’s official view, not your own. Could I have catechism quotes, too?
 
Why thank you good sir, the last one did seem to make sense (though the replies were from a whole heap of gamers anyway…:D)

So basically the all-clear’s given?

There’s nothing inherently sinful with most games, rather it is what happens to you when you play them.
  • I had a passive aggressive friend who would RAGE when stuff happened. He doesn’t play games anymore.
  • Some games have suggestive clothing. People who struggle with porn may want to avoid those.
  • Some games can make you slothful. If this happens, avoid them.
But IMHO if you can maintain a healthy personal and spiritual life while playing games, fill your boots!
