Please say a prayer for “Dark horse” 3rd Battalion 5th Marines and their families. They are fighting in Afghanistan & they have lost 12 Marines in 4 days.
IT WOULD BE NICE TO SEE THIS MESSAGE spread if people could please pass it on.

Nothing has been in the media about these guys.

They are: Justin Allen, 23; Brett Linley, 29, Matthew Weikert, 29; Justus Bartett, 27; Dave Santos, 21; Chase Stanley, 21; Jesse Reed, 26; Matthew Johnson, 21; Zachary Fisher, 24; Brandon King, 23; Christopher Goeke, 23; Sheldon Tate, 27.

All are Marines that gave their lives for You this week. Please honor Them by forwarding this and asking for prayers.

Remember, Lord, those who have died and have gone before us marked with the sign of faith,
especially for whom we now pray:
Justin Allen, Brett Linley, Matthew Weikert, Justus Bartett, Dave Santos, Chase Stanley, Jesse Reed, Matthew Johnson, Zachary Fisher, Brandon King, Christopher Goeke, Sheldon Tate.
May these and all who sleep in Christ,
find in your presence
light, happiness, and peace.
Through Christ our Lord. Amen

:gopray2:
Mary, Queen of Peace,
we turn to you, our Mother,
into your hands we place our prayers.

For our men and women serving in the military, protect them!
For innocent victims of war and violence, spare them!
For those who mourn and are injured, comfort them!
For people of all nations, unite them
in the love and peace of your Son, the Prince of Peace.

Mary Queen of Peace, pray for us!
Amen

:gopray2:
Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who
fled to your protection, implored your help, or sought your intercession, was left unaided.
Inspired with this confidence, I fly unto you, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother.
To you do I come, before you I stand, sinful and sorrowful.
O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions,
but in your mercy hear and answer them.
Amen

:gopray2:
Eternal rest grant unto them O Lord,
and let perpetual light shine upon them.
:highprayer:

Hail Mary,
Full of Grace,
The Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit
of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary,
Mother of God,
pray for us sinners now,
and at the hour of our death.
Amen.

Rest in Peace
Code:
Eternal rest, grant unto these men, O Lord
and let perpetual light shine upon them.
May they rest in peace. Amen.
We remember the following Marines, 3rd Battalion 5th Marines, who lost their lives in service of our country: Justin Allen, 23; Brett Linley, 29, Matthew Weikert, 29; Justus Bartett, 27; Dave Santos, 21; Chase Stanley, 21; Jesse Reed, 26; Matthew Johnson, 21; Zachary Fisher, 24; Brandon King, 23; Christopher Goeke, 23; Sheldon Tate, 27.

**Prayer for the grieving **

Father of all mercies and God of consolation, You love us eternally and transform the shadows of death into the dawn of life. Look upon the grief of these heroic Marines’ families; be their refuge and comfort so that their sadness and sorrow may turn into the light and peace of Your Presence. In dying, Your Son destroyed death; in rising, He restored life. Grant that at the end of our earthly pilgrimage we may be found in His company with our brothers and sisters. There, You shall wipe away every tear. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

:signofcross:

They all have my prayers.

“Do not abandon yourselves to despair. We are the Easter people and hallelujah is our song.”
“I plead with you! Never, ever give up on hope, never doubt, never tire, and never become discouraged. Be not afraid.”
“If He asks much of you, it is because He knows you can give much.”

“All are Marines that gave their lives for You this week.” That thought process really bugs me. I am in now way, shape, or form trying to denigrate the service of any man or woman in the military (having served in the army myself, just got out in 2013). I think we do a great disservice to those killed overseas in trying to turn their deaths into something it wasn’t. They did not die for “us”. They are not in Afghanistan fighting to “defend freedom”. They are there because the United States Government (and our President) has told them to go. If our military had any vested interest in defending the freedom of the citizens of the United States, they would not be sending everyone overseas. They would be keeping them home, securing our borders, securing our cities (all the gang violence in major and moderate sized cities). That would be defending freedom. Killing people in another country (most of whom are innocent civilians caught in the middle) or, unfortunately, being killed, does not make them “heroes” who died for “us”. I didn’t ask anyone to go over there. My rant isn’t directed at you personally so I hope it doesn’t offend. It was just that last comment brought the thought process driving it to mind and I wanted to vent because I know I can’t be the only one in the world who hears this nonsense and shakes his head. Pray for the souls of any who die, regardless of whom they are, what they did, etc. The only reason the military should be in muslim countries now, is to protect the innocent Christians, Jews and Muslims from being killed by Islamists. But that isn’t the focus of any major power in this world (tragically) and so it is pointless being there.

Saint Michael, the archangel, defend us in battle, be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil, may God rebuke him, we humbly pray. And do you, O’ Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God thrust into Hell Satan and all the other evil spirits who prowl about the world for the ruin of souls.

Amen.

†

Our Father who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

Amen.

Something about this looked familiar so I looked it up. Turns out to be an email hoax, started around 2010. Here’s the info…

veteranstoday.com/2011/01/14/marine-prayer-request-for-darkhorse-not-what-it-seems/

There were real deaths in the 3/5 in October 2010, which are cited in the article. These young men probably could use your prayers instead.
Dear Jesus forgive whoever started this! This request came from my Church prayer group so I am SURE they weren’t aware of the hoax. I am so sorry but really didn’t think twice that someone would have made this up. It just proves to me the level of mentality that is out there and is so very sad. None the less, men did die and prayers are needed for all our young men fighting against terrorism to protect our country and the world.

This was meant to pray for a group of men that died in war, and their families. You are right about the violence etc in our homeland, and the protection of the innocent BUT young men and women are in other countries fighting against terrorism in order to stop it from spreading throughout the world, (911) and we DO pray for the souls of many that die regardless. It is not pointless being there. You should be more upset about the person who started this in 2010 than at me or anyone who feels bad and desires to pray for people and their families that died in war or violence, service people or civilians. I can’t believe a request for prayer irked you so much Saint Francis.

All is well. The Lord knows how to apply our heartfelt prayers.

Well Hello,

I am a new member.
I too received this email.

There are some people on this list that were not Marines so they “they being the negative naysayers” call it untrue.
Army, British even.
Some of the details have been changed around. “Dates/Units”
We find everyday that some don’t get the facts straight.
woundedtimes.blogspot.com/2011/01/marine-prayer-request-for-darkhorse-3rd.html

However they all were fighting for the same cause.
I don’t get discouraged.

The idea is still the same.
What we stand for and live for and die for is still the same.
They were doing the right things for the rights reasons

Thank You for your prayers and I hope that you don’t mind everyday if I add mine.
Personally I am not discouraged.
My faith is strong. I am Catholic.

Instead of finishing the seminary and becoming a priest, I went on to join the Marines.
It’s funny how we are called sometimes.
The Lord sure does work in mysterious ways.

My prayers are always of thanks and not requests.
I am grateful for the blessings that have been bestowed upon me every single day.

Thank You for the prayers for Marines. 👍
The Lord knows, we sure do need them 😛

Stay Safe,
God Bless
and Semper Fidelis “Always Faithful”

Francis 🙂

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

**O Blessed Archangel Gabriel,
we beseech thee,
do thou intercede for us
at the throne of Divine Mercy
in our present necessities,
that as thou didst announce to Mary
the mystery of the Incarnation,
so through thy prayers
and patronage in heaven
we may obtain the benefits of the same,
and sing the praise of God forever
in the land of the living.

Amen.**

Praying for these brave young marines, and all those who defend us.

Our Father who art in heaven,
hallowed be Thy name.
Thy kingdom come,
Thy will be done on earth
as it is in heaven.
Give us this day
our daily bread, and
forgive us our trespasses as we
forgive those who trespass against us, and
lead us not into temptation, but
deliver us from evil,
for Thine is the kingdom,
the power, and the glory
for ever and ever. Amen.

Saint Michael the Archangel,
defend us in battle,
be our protection against the
wickedness and snares
of the devil.
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray,
and do thou, O prince of the heavenly host,
by the power of God,
cast into hell Satan and
all the other evil spirits
who prowl about the world
seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.

St. Michael The Archangel will protect soldiers if they pray to him…
