Hello. I’m a Catholic journalist who has written for The New York Times, The Washington Post, America: The Jesuit Review and numerous other publications, and I have won many writing awards. But my industry has suffered drastic funding and staffing cutbacks, and at my age (58), I’m having an extremely difficult time finding a decent job that pays a livable wage, and I’m on the verge of despair. I have prayed fervently over this, but God does not seem to be answering my prayers, and I now find myself destitute, with one son a junior at a Catholic high school and another in eighth grade, so college tuition costs loom. I feel like an utter failure, unwanted, unneeded, useless, worthless, helpless, and I have contemplated suicide, though the fear of damnation has kept me from going through with it. Please pray fervently to God the Father, in the name of His Divine Son, Jesus Christ, that I find good work soon.
Thank you, and may God bless you.
