Thank you for the continued prayers. Mom is still undergoing physical therapy. She can walk without a cane, but her balance still needs to improve. Her right hand can move more, but similarly strength needs to improve, so she can use it to carry things. And she needs to learn how to write again and improve her grip. Today she just started an alternative therapy as a supplement. We were told that it could speed up her mobility. Hopefully it’s true and things would go well.

I’ve read that stroke patients can experience depression and mood changes. This is because of the effect of the illness on the brain, as well feeling inadequate due to one’s condition in having no (at first) to limited movements on the road to recovery. Lately my mom doesn’t feel like going to therapy. She has it thrice a week and awhile ago she told me that she’s not going to the 3rd session for the week, saying therapy is useless and has no effect etc. I think she’s being impatient with the recovery (and yes, it’s just normal; everybody wants to be healed as soon as possible). I just want her to be able to walk well and normally and regain her full mobility, and I know she does too. I searched for stroke support group but it seems there’s not any in our area and the website’s page on it wasn’t even working.

Please pray that she has the drive and willpower to be healed, and that she won’t tire of going to therapy and exercising. I know it’s not easy; therapy is tiring and difficult. Her case has a chance of full recovery and I hope we fully make use of that.
