Thanks for the info NeedsMercy. Her cardiologist referred her to a physician specializing in heartbeats. The cardio said that the irregular heartbeat may be due to the hypertension meds she’s taking. She had an ecg and mri taken days ago, so we just need to know the results. Another doctor who also practices alternative medicine said that irregular heartbeats are congenital. Mom still goes to physical therapy. Thank you for the prayers.

There is an irregular heartbeat–atrial fibrillation–which can cause strokes. My mother had this type of heart arrhythmia and had 2 strokes. My BIL also had AFb and had a stroke. I’m guessing that your mom probably had the heart problem before her stroke. Make sure you get her a good cardiologist.

The doctor specializing in heartbeats said that Mom would need to undergo surgery for the thickened septum. We think that it should be the last option. They went to another doctor who is also into alternative therapies, and said that surgery isn’t required, because the thickening is in the bottom part of the heart, not the upper part (which would be considered more dangerous). We’re still considering asking other doctors for second opinions.

Please pray that she could be healed, I don’t know how. I’m just not in a good place right now, just living from day to day but there’s this uncomfortable feeling and anxiety that I could really do away with.
