I have been out of work for a long time. I finally got a job for which I am truly BLESSED. Many prayers were said here and I am thankful. I started yesterday. The frustrating thing is that I am in a room with 3 very YOUNG people one of which is engaged to the bosses’ daughter. They use curse words a lot and play music most of the day on the radio (NOT Christian, but rap-like)…It is hard to get my work done but I’m keeping silent on all this and trying my best to get through it. If this is God’s will, so be it. If God has another plan for me, I know it will surface.
I’m bewildered and need some prayers and guidance from God. Before I got the job, I was seriously thinking about getting my nursing license. I loved volunteering at Hospice. I started it 4 years ago when my dad died. He was at a Hospice facility and my mom and I statyed with him 24/7. It was SO sad to see sooooooo many patients there who didn’t have one single family or friend with them. I started volunteering just to be with the ones who were all alone. They probably didn’t even know I was there. Sometimes I just sat quietly and talked to them. Sometimes, if they were alert, I did whatever they wanted. Most of them wanted to talk about God or Heaven so I always took my Bible…I loved the joy of being able to help. When I was looking for work in my field, I talked to my family about switching to nursing. There are 383 nursing positions open at Florida hospital. I applied for a position as a registration assistant in the ER dept with hrs 11 to 7. They have aked me to come in and take the typing test (today at 1:30) but then I got the job making a little more money which we desperately need right now. I’m 57 and if I worked at Fl. Hosp., the hours would be 11-7 5 nights a week (Thurs-Mon) and I am sure those days would be the busiest. BUT after a year they would help reimburse the schooling and I could progress from there to perhaps an inside job (available to employees only) and then work on getting my license. BUT at 57, I don’t know if I have it in me to work full time AND study and go to classes. I’ll probably work until I am 70. But I don’t know if we can make it on the very small salary. The work I am doing now is exactly what I’ve been doing for 25 years…but working in a this atmosphere with all thehip-hop, cursing and using the F word like crazy is a little much. They’re moving to another office next year which may help. The drive is not bad and the hours and benefits are good. BUT is this what God wants me to do? PLEASE pray for me

Praying to St. Joseph The Worker and Our Lady re your employment situation and also your accommodation. May The Holy Spirit guide and inspire you and grant you strength and a happy environment …

Sounds very difficult and most certainly I will be praying for you - Maybe God put you there to be an inspiration to these young people. (I don’t mean preaching-type inspiration, just the “lead by example” type inspiration.) In any case, I pray that you are able to tune out the negative. I take holy water to work with me and bless my work station and pray that the Holy Spirit take up residence there with me. The people around may not change, but I find peace that way. I will be praying for you, for patience and discernment as you go forward.

willow:

Sounds like a tough one for you. I think if we all prayed for the “young people” to tone it down, it just might do the trick! So that’s what I’m going to pray for. Also, if you don’t mind making it on your current salary, then it sounds to me as if you’ve answered your own question - aside from the beligerent kids. I will keep you in prayer and ask Our Lord to give you guidance. God bless you, friend!

Father, we thank you for this
job you have given “Onwillowbay”.
We ask you now to give her
the guidance and strength she needs
to complete this mission.
Allow her to witness to these people
who despirately need it.
Allow their hearts and minds to be open
as she speaks.
Grant that her actions are as strong as
her words.
AMEN

Praying to St Mary Magdalene and St.Philomena to intercede for you. These ladies are tough and they’ll be walking with you, for the love of Christ.

Be strong:thumbsup:

Praying very hard for you Willow. I believe God sent you there to set an example for these young people. Hang in there and do your best. It distresses me that we have so many foul mouthed young people out in public today. Praying that your example may have a beneficial impact on these young people.

AMEN, Rocket! I hadn’t thought of that! That is great insight (given by the Holy Spirit, I’m sure). Thank you for enlightening ME, too! God bless.🙂

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name.
Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.
Amen.

Dear Friends. I thought I would give you an update. Yesterday (no doubt about it…all the prayers have helped)…the music played for less than an hour. The language is hard to take and I find my mind silently “wandering” when I hear it. Please continue to pray for me. God must have a plan for me to be in this environment. I am praying for the ones I work with. Please hellp me pray for them as well. I love and thank each of you dear brothers and sisters in Christ.
God Bless You always…

Dancing With God

When I meditated on the word****Guidance,

I kept seeing ‘dance’ at the end of the word.

I remember reading that doing God’s will is a lot like dancing.

When two people try to lead, nothing feels right.

The movement doesn’t flow with the music,

and everything is quite uncomfortable and jerky.

When one person realizes that, and lets the other lead,

both bodies begin to flow with the music.

One gives gentle cues, perhaps with a nudge to the back

or by pressing Lightly in one direction or another.

It’s as if two become one body, moving beautifully.

The dance takes surrender, willingness,

and attentiveness from one person

and gentle guidance and skill from the other.

**My eyes drew back to the word**** **Guidance.

When I saw ‘G’: I thought of God, followed by ‘u’ and ‘i’.

’God, ‘u’ and ‘i’ dance.'

God, you, and I dance.

As I lowered my head, I became willing to trust

**that I would get **guidance about my life.

Once again, I became willing to let God lead.

My prayer for you today is that God’s blessings

and mercies are upon you on this day and everyday.

**May you abide in God, as God **abides in you.

Dance together with God, trusting God to lead

and to guide you through each season of your life.

There is no cost but a lot of rewards;

so let’s continue to pray for one another.

And I Hope You Dance !

You’re a really special addition in my life!! Praying for you…

Praying for you still.

I’m still praying for God to give you guidance and I will pray for your co-workers too.

God bless
