US bishops give $750K grant to group pushing homosexuality, LGBT propaganda | News | LifeSite

The naysayers falsely accuse Lifesite of self authentication. That is a false accusation. They will link to previous articles on their own website for more in depth information and because they know if they link to a secular website it will be changed or deleted in many cases. That’s why I hate to Provide a Web link to other sites I cannot control

Lifesitenews has no clue about Religious Orders in the Catholic Church

They’re using one segment of the Jesuits here in the US to attack the Bishops

The Jesuit Order is much larger than the one priest speaking out for LGBTQ rights

If they aren’t cross-referencing any sources, then they are by definition self authenticating. Surely there are other Catholic websites they could link to?

I found this link on the ISN webpage:

It is very disingenous of lifesite to imply money is being given to support a “group pushing homosexuality”. Money is being given to help work on immigration.

Looking at the lifesite article in more detail, it’s apparent that the author is objecting to many things simply because he himself disagrees with them, and not because they flout the teachings of the CC. For example, he makes a point of highlighting an event called “justice and mercy shall kiss: LGBT Catholics in the age of Pope Francis”, but does not give any detail as to why this title is bad, or wrong. There’s nothing whatsoever to indicate that it is. In fact, most of the speeches he protests against are simply because they relate to LGBT+ issues and Catholicism. It is not “pushing homosexuality” or “LGBT propaganda” to talk about these things. That’s just ridiculous.

This:
The bishops of the United States, through this $750,000 grant to the Ignatian Solidarity Network, are morally complicit in the promotion of the grave sin of Sodom, which cries to Heaven for vengeance. ISN is thoroughly committed to the promotion of evil and should never have been considered for a grant to begin with. Because their promotion of homosexuality is so bold, it is impossible that the leadership of the CCHD were unaware of their activities. While most of the bishops of the United States do not have time to investigate every grant coming from the USCCB, this is one they cannot ignore.

Call your bishop and call the USCCB offices and demand that this grant be rescinded!
is utterly bonkers, IMO.

Our OP may also want to learn more about the CCHD. In my experience, serving the poor is best done without asking for their sexual orientation.

http://www.usccb.org/about/catholic-campaign-for-human-development/

" The Catholic Campaign for Human Development is the national anti-poverty program of the U.S. Catholic Bishops, working to carry out the mission of Jesus Christ “… to bring good news to the poor … release to captives … sight to the blind, and let the oppressed go free.” (Luke 4:18)

The belief that those who are directly affected by unjust systems and structures have the best insight into knowing how to change them is central to CCHD. CCHD works to break the cycle of poverty by helping low-income people participate in decisions that affect their lives, families and communities. CCHD offers a hand up, not a hand out."

I am sorry to hear that. That is a lot of money to promote LGBT propaganda. Why not give that money to poor families who are struggling with low wages and many children. Or to the homeless. I am seeing more people sleeping on park benches with their belongings in a shopping cart. Shouldn’t American Catholics donate money to help the homeless and not to promote LGBT propaganda? I think that the Roman Catholic bishops should follow the example of Russia and the Russian Orthodox Church by refusing to support the dissemination of pro-homosexual material to children.
