US couple's abortion ballot causes uproar

The website is birthornot.com/. I sure hope this is a prank, but I wasn’t about to risk it. Pro-life for the win! 👍

Not sure we can post the direct link to their website…but put his name and “birth or not” in your favorite search engine and you’ll find it. It is nice to know that the results weigh heavily in favor of life:

I would be extremely suprised if this were not a prank. Who bases life and death decisions on the whims of an internet poll? Surely no one in their right mind.

A few years ago, there was a similar ploy by a “couple” who said that they would only refrain from having an abortion if they could raise however many thousands of dollars by such-and-such date. So they encouraged people to donate money to save their baby. This seems like a similar ploy, only instead of making money off of solicited donations, they make money off of ad space.

It looks as though the site is down at the moment. Maybe WordPress didn’t appreciate the stunt either.
 
I just got back from this site and I was horrified by the tone of the comments they have been getting. In the off chance that this is for real, PLEASE leave these people encouraging, non-judgemental comments about the joys they can have with a new child or the options they have that will leave them childless but still allow their child to experiance all the joys of life…

While I am anti-Abortion I certainly consider myself pro-Choice. Adoption is a Choice…

I’m hoping this is a prank, but I think we need to treat these folks as if there is a real life on the line. And remember that the tone of your comments can possibly save a life. If this couple hears a bunch of people calling them murders, they will not be in the proper frame of mind to make a good choice. If they hear loving stories of happy children, well… It might save a life…

The post on their blog for October 21, 2010 shows an ultrasound image of ‘baby’. If this was really a couple who thinks “abortion is O.K.”, they wouldn’t show an ultrasound and they wouldn’t call it a baby. Thank God this is probably a joke, and hopefully one which will show the pro-death crowd up as misguided. We must pray for these people if it really is a poll to decide such a thing… :eek:
 
I would really encourage people not to vote. It only encourages them to view this ploy for publicity as a success.
