I would say that we should be very wary about speculating about whatsoevers country (or persons) roles in the End Times. Nessecarily because we do not know when it will occur.

What we do know is that the US has only been a “major” world country for 80 or so years – and to speculate that this will be indefinite is as humourous as imagining that this must be exactly what the old “for king and country” British citizens felt at the Height of the empire in 1922, when over 1/4 of the worlds population were subjects.

Things change, sometimes for better, sometimes for worse (imo; ending colonialism was VERY GOOD). But we all know the British crashed from their height as a world power, to the murky depths of obscurity, in less than one hundred years - and we can’t say that this won’t happen to other world powers.

Very simply; We don’t know when the End Times will be, but we do know it’s not wise to assume any one country will be around forever… After all “the sun never sets on the empire”

You are not suggesting the US is an empire correct? Because we are not, nor do we wish to be.

Not in a formal sense I don’t think it is an Empire…

But we must remember Empire comes from the Latin imperium which in a loose sense means power - and no one would argue that the US is powerful

I just brought up the British Empire as an example of how a “one world power” can go from nigh-supreme power in 1922 to relative obscurity only 80 or so years later - and unless we either assume that the US will be around for ever, or the End Times happen soon - we can’t really say in all honesty that we know if the country per se will be in any way relevant.

I could not quote any specific Scriptural reference or church teaching which specifies the US as referred to directly in the “End Times”. However I personally believe that the anti-Christ will be an American Politician, and that he’s around today. Now that’s my belief, and like any other I could easily be wrong.

The fact remains the US is the only nation today which can project it’s power around the world. You’ve got carrier fleets in every ocean which by themselves could destroy smaller nations with their nuclear arsenals. That’s to say nothing of your land based ICBM’s, bomber fleets and submarines. Your military long ago went quiet about “Star Wars” which hints to me that you’ve probably got it up and running.

The world’s wealthiest families and companies are still, by and large, American. If you get an economic cold, the rest of the world gets economic influenza.

Your Air Force routinely drops bombs and missiles on Afghan tribesman living near the roof of the world, piloted by joysticks at Edwards Air Force base. NSA routinely monitors the great majority of mobile phone calls around the world and probably a lot of internet traffic. You have verichip, and a citizenry which is becoming increasingly atheist. The Church is more divided in the US than any other nation on earth.

You’re in a situation where the Moslems call you the "Great Satan’ and thus you are being forced by your role as World Cop to be both antagonised and antagonising. When 9/11 happened, there appeared to be rather clear demonic images in the smoke, and I don’t think they were accidental or the product of photo manipulation. You consume more of the world’s natural resources than any other nation, although China and India are doing their best to catch up.

I don’t like to say it, but I think your fundamentalists are looking completely in the wrong directon when they accuse every other nationality but themselves as being potentially the host for the anti-Christ.

But, as I said, that’s only my personal opinion.
