US should really open the number of its nuclear warheads

There are many questions arose recently ---- Will “Nuclear” bring peace to the world or even more vulnerable to conventional war? How strong is the U.S. nuclear forces on earth? The questions appeared jus because on May 7th , the eighth Review Conference of the “Non-Proliferation Treaty” continued in the United Nations Headquarters in New York, the participants proposed that representatives and leaders in the Middle East region should try to establish a “nuclear-free zone.” Just 3 days before that, the U.S. Department of Defense announced an unprecedented deployment of nuclear warheads of existing operations 5113.
However, the international military experts pointed out that Obama has not completely open the U.S. government to verify the strength, the day is only open its nuclear warheads deployed nuclear warheads, not including the thousands waiting for removal of retired nuclear weapons, as well as a greater number of dismantling and part of the failure of nuclear warheads.
In theory, the nuclear warheads is easily to become active, or for nuclear weapons and other items. The U.S. scientific community estimates that the true number of nuclear warheads the United States has should be 8000-9000.
The people in the world doubted the number of US’s nuclear warheads because the people in the world no longer believe the US as it always carry out double-standard policy in dealing some affairs. So, US should change its image—try to be responsilbe for the world peace, do not always put its interests first, it should consider the interests of other countries.

why should we reveal our strengths to possible enemies of the U.S.? nuclear weapons are a deterrent. that is what they are designed for. no ones buisness as to our nuclear, or conventional capabilities.

How does revealing the exact nature of the nation’s nuclear capabilities any safer? There are military secrets in every country. Keeping other nation’s guessing about your capabilities is a tactic to prevent attack. If other nation’s want this info, it is sound policy to make them expend intelligence capabilities to get these answers. This is preferential to them using those resources to obtain secrets that can be used to build nuclear weapons.
When you say the US should not always act in it’s own self interest ( Which we don’t do) where should we not? Can you point out other nations that act against their own self interest?
