I have heard about the pledge, but I don’t believe it for a minute. He is the most Pro-Death President we have ever elected.

I don’t believe it, either. I used to support him before I knew about his views on abortion, and PBA specifically. I remember someone was wearing a pro-Obama button and I asked her if she knew that he approves of PBA. Her response was that he is too educated to condone PBAs. End of discussion. Oh, she also gave me her button. I was going to put a black line through “Obama” but I lost the button. No big loss.

My neighbor loves him. She’s also pro-abortion, has had one herself, and after it she was no longer able to have children (of course I don’t know if it had anything to do with the abortion but she had also given birth to a son who lived; one alive, then the abortion, and then she couldn’t carry to term).

She’s not stupid. She knows what an abortion is. She still thinks it’s OK or at least that’s what she says. All I can do is pray for her and be willing to help her if she decides she wants to talk about it.

As for Obama’s intent to reduce abortions, I don’t doubt his sincerity. Surely he doesn’t think it’s a great thing for women to have abortions all the time. However, he doesn’t see it as quite the critical issue we do, and so his method of reducing abortions will not be what you or I might think is the best approach. My guess is that his approach will include increased access to contraception, and more education about contraception.
