The USCCB has updated its online NAB Bible site. I’m not sure that there is any new content but the interface has changed.

usccb.org/bible/books-of-the-bible/

What do you guys think of the interface? I liked the previous interface. It was very simple. They moved the books of the Bible into a scrollable window embedded in the main window and I find that a bit tedious. It’s still going to be my go to resource for quick online Bible searches.

Here is a search hint. Just search Google for the name of the book followed by the chapter and follow that with the word “NAB” and the first link will always be the USCCB website version of the NAB for that exact book.

Example: Search for “John 6 NAB” takes you here where the first link is correct.

lol wow they must have updated during my commute home from work. Looks okay at first glance… we’ll see how i like it when I use it later…

Where are the footnotes? They took out all the footnotes! AUGH!

It’s the Revised text, naturally.
Scripture texts, prefaces, and introductions used in this work are taken from the New American Bible, revised edition © 2010, 1991, 1986, 1970 Confraternity of Christian Doctrine, Inc., Washington, DC All Rights Reserved. For the time being, the immediate previous edition can still be found here.

Overall, the entire USCCB site, including the NABRE portion, looks great. A definite upgrade. I’m looking forward to seeing the NABRE textual notes being put up as well.

Looks like the NAB has been removed.

Google searches using the format “book chapter NAB” which used to yeild a link right into a specific book and chapter at the USCCB website now come up as stale links and the USCCB website redirects to the NABRE main page. I’m hoping this is temporary until Google indexes the new site.

I search that way sometimes dozens of times each day and it would be a great diappointment to me if the operators of the USCCB redirected google search links to the NABRE main page every time.

Google will probably update soon (hopefully the new format indexes acceptably - else all search results might just pull up the TOC)

If you really want the previous revision, you can still find it in the Wayback Machine.

You might also try Biblia Clerus - they have a Google custom search right on the front page.
