Yesterday, before the Holy Thursday Mass, my pastor deputed me to assist him in consuming the Precious Body which had been in the tabernacle; he had forgotten to consecrate less hosts at the previous Mass. I, after consuming some of the hosts, realized that I had eaten less than an hour before, so—of course—I was unable to assist him until the hour had passed. I then went to the ablution bowl to purify my hands. Upon beginning, I noticed a visible particle of Our Lord’s body on my hands. I, for a moment, disputed what to do. I obviously couldn’t consume the particle for the reason previously stated, but it seemed impractical to go to Father and say, “here’s a tiny particle that you need to consume,” so I rinsed the speck of Our Lord’s body into the ablution bowl. Did I do the right thing, or did I desecrate the body of Our Lord?
