Using Loud Headphones

I guess this is a strange question that may be obvious to many but I was wondering if using headphones that were too loud was a sin since it damages your hearing. I was wondering this since I don’t think you are aloud to cut yourself because your body is the Temple of the Holy Spirit so I was wondering about damaging hearing.

It is certainly a different class of sin from cutting yourself. Wearing loud headphones is more neglectful than anything. Your primary intent is not to hurt yourself, but to enjoy music. The knowledge that it could hurt your ears should be a primary concern in forming your conscience about such an action. It can be compared to smoking: in the near term, it is enjoyable and harmless, but the long term effects are not necessarily worth the pleasure you received.
