Using prayer as contraception

I’m wondering if any of you have decided to stop with NFP and simply use prayer as contraception. My wife and I have used it for 3 years and it has worked fine - up until 2 months ago. That’s pretty effective. We simply ask God (sometimes a saint) to prevent conception, and they do it! It’s natural BC with no hassle, no fear of making God pissed off.
 
I suppose wailing out a few “Our Fathers” or “Hail Marys” during intercourse would be quite effective. I pretty sure it would render me completely incapable of conception.

Plenty of folks pray* for *conception. I guess it could work both ways.

The first time I read this I thought it said, “My wife and I have used it for 3 months and it has worked fine - up until 2 months ago” - 😃
 
Married couples are supposed to be open to new life, and therefore, I have a difficult time believing that God would be happy about a couple praying not to have a baby. I would think that God would be happier if the couple prayed for an openness to God’s will being done in their lives, whether or not that meant conceiving a baby.
 
With all respect, I’m reminded of musty old joke. Do you know what to call people who use prayer for contraception? Parents.

Again I say this with all respect, and as the father of two.
