Using the eastern jesus prayer on my western rosary beads?

Hi everyone, is there any problem with me saying “Jesus, son of the living God,have mercy on me, a sinner” (or any version of this eastern prayer) on my western rosary beads?

I dont know if our RC Church has “rules” about these things…

Nope, no rules about that. Go for it.

I don’t see why there would be any problem at all. The Church doesn’t tend to put restrictions on private prayer, so as long as you’re not using rosaries to, for example, pray to Buddha, you’re good to go.

It’s all personal devotions and the Jesus prayer is awesome… No issues here.

Thanks so much! I have “leopold mandic” rosary beads…hes kind of the lesser known Padre Pio…I just think it will work for me, throughout the day, to do the Jesus prayer on the beads. When I heard folks mention “approved rosaries” on another thread, I got confused!!!

You can use the rosary to say any prayer
