He came into the church hand in hand with his wife right before communion, then immediately went up to his wife’s father and shot him in the head. His wife’s father would be dead, but he turned his head right before he was shot, so that the bullet that went through his head wasn’t fatal. The gunman ran out of church, followed by enraged mass-goers. Using his gun to steal a neighbor’s truck, he drove off north to elude police. Running out of gas, he was captured… There have been some other shootings at Catholic masses over the years in the U.S., usually the assailant shooting the priest.

I am so glad he will survive. Evil has so many faces, and it hurts to imagine such an evil in the very presence of our Lord.

This is why my husband brings a gun into church. Too many crazies out there who want to prove some kind of point by doing something horribly violent inside a place of worship.

I have to wonder what kind of life this man will have after being shoot in the head? The way the media reports the news, pain, suffering and quality of life seldom, if ever, gets reported. It’s like, if the the person survives, all is fine and dandy. Personally, I would rather to have died!
