Right now, it looks like the accusations are only in the form of social media opinions and note code violations. I dont expect this to code far without code being referenced.

I’m not sure what difference 23 days does. If they get heat for child abuse, so should the parents of the last infant to be made to do this to beat the previous record, and so on, until a reasonable minimum age is both reached and established.

I agree that it is child abuse. Sorry.
Not sure if it’s child abuse, but it’s certainly reckless and gross (considering they put their child in a potentially dangerous position to put the spotlight on themselves). So maybe I do think it’s child abuse.

I agree I was a little harsh what I said thinking on it. But I remember my own children at 6 months they could barely sit up , I’m thinking of a young child’s neck muscles and joints, and of course inability to swim at that age. I agree with what you said maybe more reckless and gross.
Somewhat reminds me of the case years ago of the parents who had their 7 year old daughter flying around the world at the plane controls(with the Dad and the flight instructor in the plane)and the plane crashed.

Don’t see it as abuse, just not smart.

Baby was on a boogie board at low speed, wearing two life vests, and dad was able to touch/grab the baby. Baby now has a world record.

Far to much silly hand wringing on this,

We’ll have to wait and see what “Child Protective Services” determines.

I used to lifeguard during classes where they would introduce babies to swimming. Ideally at the end you could toss your baby in the pool, no life jacket, and it would float to the surface and roll over, and remain floating till someone came.

Certainly a lot of the instruction wouldn’t meet current handwringing standards, yet no babies were harmed.

This is reckless. If something happened to that baby, it would’ve been completely unnecessary.
