The process of rejecting Mormonism can look like mental illness. That is the reason why DSM even has a category for that: “spiritual problem”
I take a look at the label “dependent personality disorder”, and can understand why I allowed LDS to emotionally abuse me. And, raised in an area influenced by LDS, how I developed those personality traits.
