Hi! I am a mother of four and was recently diagnosed with uterine prolapse. I am wondering if this is fairly common and if other catholic moms have any tips on managing symptoms. I have back pain and lower abdomen pain. I am also worried about my fertility. Has anyone suffered from this and went on to have more children? Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. God bless.

My wife had a rectocele prolapse after our fifth after her first week postpartum, but at her six week checkup, it was gone. But we did a lot of research into this subject at the time. There are a few treatment options. You should check with your doctor for sure.

She did Kegels. Lots of them. Plus rest (which wasn’t a problem since she was nursing all the time anyway. I worked from home, so I was able to pick up some of the slack (although it was hard on my job).

Praying for you.
God bless,
Ut

We are not allowed to give anything resembling medical advice here, but I wanted to let you know that you are not alone. I have had prolapse occur briefly during my second and sixth pregnancies. There are treatment options that you can discuss with your care provider.

I will share that I was able to address my prolapse with lots and lots of kegels. That is what worked for me personally. That is not medical advice, just a personal anecdote. It is very easy to learn about uterine prolapse, and to find online support and resources, by Googling the topic.

Good luck and welcome to CAF.

I’ve never had that, but wanted to let you know that I’m praying for you.
