I agree with Psalter. In here there is no RCIA for converts, as far as i know…i think it’s between the convert and the priest/priests…lately a convert was introduced to us after mass by the father who baptised her and taught her.

Oh, so it is okay to drink it? Hmm. Interesting. I have honestly never thought of doing that, because I’d never heard of it until now. Well that’s good to know. Is there any official Church writing on the acceptable use of holy water that mentions drinking it? I am curious.

Sorry, Sam, if part of my post left you confused on this issue! I said that I couldn’t think of a circumstance under which Catholics would use the water in this way, but now Paul has shown me one such instance. Thank you, Paul, for correcting me in my ignorance!

There is nothing wrong with drinking holy water but it isn’t common for people to do it in the West. I think a lot of Eastern Orthodox do drink holy water and probably Eastern Catholics do too.

And come to think of it, I did put a couple drops in my mouth one time when I had a sore throat and the neat thing is the sore throat went away the next day.

It’s so good to come here and learn these things. For all the questions I asked at RCIA (and there were many!), there are some things that I just never thought to ask about, like this.

It was an English speaking western country.
RCIA isn’t required for everyone and the priest should look at an individual’s circumstances first before he says they must go through RCIA to become Catholic…

But I wasn’t ready to be baptized yet, I just wanted to learn more about Catholicism.

Boy have we missed you here!!!
By reading your posts, you certainly do need to be educated on Catholicism and our practices.
I can imagine seeing a mass in progress would be kinda mind blowing for the first time and daunting as well.
Everything we do in the mass has a special purpose towards Jesus for the way we love and worship him.
Please, feel free to ask any of us questions about the church and we will answer as best as we can.
Your heart will soon be filled with the Holy Spirit and i think its only a matter of time you become Catholic 👍
Actually, i will be in the middle east next March, more precisely im going to Egypt/Jordon and Israel. Ive never been there so it will be an eye opener for me, and im looking forward to it.
God be with you, you know Jesus loves you so much, and we love our brother Sam too 👍
